Thank you!

Tonks is... One thing Tonks isn't is stupid. Her mind is always working, though in a much more associative, rather than analytical, fashion. So her mind WOULD tell her again and again that she should stop hurting herself. And yet... She's both too optimistic and too stubborn to give up. And also, she does know that he cares for her, and giving up would be... another cut into his heart, an offered love that she then withdraws. Oy, she's a sad one during that year. And you're right, she can't take the chance that one more time won't do it.

Thank you - NOT overdoing the angst is currently among my overall goals in writing, so I am very glad that it works!

Hmm. Actually, hyacinths are her favourite flowers. The ones for my version of Tonks at least. And it would be just a detail that Remus would know. But... lol I didn't realise they ARE a symbol of apology. Maybe that is also a part of his choice. Sometimes, I'm finding often enough, writing works out on more levels than what I've planned - including muses knowing more about subjects than I do. (then I do research, and I find out they were right... ;) )

Thank you very much. Your comments mean a lot! :D

Oddly enough, Remus in my epic fic gives Tonks hyacinths on Valentine's Day - blue ones to sympbolise constancy, and pink for playful love (and when I get to the end of HBP, he may well offer her purple ones to apologise to her ;)) - it's odd how different people come to the same conclusions about characters, but I always saw Tonks as liking unusual flowers, rather than roses or something more traditional, and hyacinths seemed a really good fit for her....

... I am catching up with your epic fic!! ... slowly. Partly 'cause RP is a bit overwhelming at times. ;)

but *nodnod* yes. She would be one for non-standard flowers.

LOL I think her attitude to roses would be like the one to her name - It's good, it's nice, but it's waaay too fine for me. It just doesn't fit. (oh well. I suspect her attitude might have been a bit less amiable towards the name in her teens. She still maintains that the only name WORSE than hers is "Walburga"... ;) )
