Remember that icon meme from like a month ago? Finally got around to it!

Comment on this post. I'll choose seven userpics from your profile and you'll explain what they mean and why you're using them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.

So um. After I came home from the Eisley concert, I was a little hyper and so I commented to everyone who had this meme. So I have a lot to do, heh.

From pibby:

- Haha, oh this icon. So a while ago, back on the metaquotes community, someone posted a conversation where this little kid had drawn "OMG RACECAR BLING BLING" and the teacher had been very amused. People thought it was hilarious and it became a macro for a very short period of time. In this time period, I was at NU studying for finals and had my first Red Bull.. and went spastic. So I wrote an insane post about the experience, and Kim (bitter_crimson), being amused, made this icon for me. It makes me giggle all the time so I've kept it, even though I'm sure hardly anyone remembers that macro anymore.

- I adore this musical, as you can probably tell. So, after first seeing it I went searching for icons. I wanted something relatively simple, and this is from my favorite song. I took it from beautifulbroke.

- Okay so Mean Girls? Probably one of the best movies ever. It's brilliance. I can probably quote along with the entire movie. So during the height of my love of this movie, I decided I needed an icon of all four of the Plastics. (though I never did get around to making Cady, and I deleted Regina's because I hated it) Gretchen's was a tie between this scene, where she's analogizing Regina to Caesar and the one where she says "I don't think my father, INVENTOR OF TOASTER STRUEDEL, would be happy about this." I ended up picking this one, because I totally agree with Gretchen. "We should totally just STAB Caesar!" Brutus was given a bad rep.

- Tegan. Glasses. Biting lip. Pretty, guh. Basically, I'm shallow. By bertie_dav

- Ruins of the Parthenon. I needed a classical icon for my classics-love, and I thought this pictures was really pretty. I wanted it to be really simplistic, to kind of let just the ruins themselves show the majesty of the era.

- My friends at Northwestern and I kind of formed a small group after our first year together. We knew each other from our first dorm Sargent, and so called the collective group the "Sarge Six" But then we moved from that dorm, and the title wouldn't work anymore. So Sameera, Yooney and I were hanging out one day and decided to think of something new. I thought we could try forming some sort of anagram with our initials. Thus SEA YAK (Sameera, Elizabeth, Amanda, Yooney, Ami, Kira) was born. And we got sweatshirts. It's ridiculously cheesy, but I love it.

- My token Grey's Anatomy icon. The thing I hate about this show is that I can love a character one minute and hate them the next. I can't keep icons for it then, because I'm always getting sick of the character. I pretty much always love Cristina though, and I loved Cristina/Burke until Burke became a jerk in the third season. But since I want at least one G'sA icon, and I never got around to finding an Addison one I really liked, I kept this one. Plus it serves as a general music!love icon. Next time I do a icon cleaning sweep it's probably going to go though.

From bitter_crimson:

- So when Dark Horse announced they were doing Season 8 of Buffy in comic book form, I geek-gasmed. And then they released the GORGEOUS Jo Chen covers of the issues. I had to have an icon, and I envisioned it like this. I wanted three slices, one each of Buffy, Xander, and Willow.. the first three covers. But when I tried doing it myself, I didn't have photoshop, and whatever I tried on Paint was HORRIBLE. So I asked Kim to do it for me. I love it muchly.. yay comics and yay Buffy!

- Ah, Faith. She's a character from Buffy and Angel, and the best part about her is that she goes through such huge character developments, but when you really look at it, she has such little on-screen time. Somehow EVERYTHING is conveyed in little moments like this scene. She's just tortured her former Watcher, and sitting on the windowsill with the bloodied glass she used on him and then dropping it down below her, you can see all the conflicting emotions. Later in that episode she begs Angel to kill her for what she's done, and I really think this is the turning point. I love this episode, and I love Faith, and I love this moment.. so I figured iconing would be a good plan.

- OKAY SO COOL STORY. Once the creator of Foxtrot, Bill Amend, did a color-by-number comic where you had to color the sections based on if the numbers in them were divisible by a certain number or prime. I got the comic on a Saturday night, filled it in on my computer, and then posted it to a Foxtrot community before anyone else. So then BILL AMEND LINKED TO IT. And it made my life, so I made an icon about it.

- *embarrassed* abunchofcrap made this for me. She had made a couple in a similar style and I said I liked them... and then later I said I didn't have a Kelly icon.. and so she combined the two thoughts and made me this. ^_^; But she made it with love, and I really do need a Kelly icon of some sort, so I kept it :D

- This is me at a bowling party in my senior year of high school. Someone in my Lit class won tickets or something, so we all got to go on a "field trip." It was pretty awesome. The really cute student teacher I had a crush on was there :D Anyway, Kim took this picture of me, but at first you could see my armpit through the sleeve. So I colored it in because ew. I use it because I look silly sticking out my tongue and giving the peace sign.. and I need a silly icon because I'm silly far too often.

- A Veronica Mars icon. I love my dead show. This is from the first episode, when Veronica and her new BFF Wallace are at the beach. Wallace makes a comment about how he feels like they're witnessing a scene out of The Outsiders (one of my favorite books ever), and Veronica replies "be cool, Sodapop." Sodapop is of course a character from the book. I found the line to be amazing, and since I adored the show from the beginning I knew I needed an icon. It's one of the few icons I've made that I actually really like. I like the black fuzzyness creeping along the sides of it.

- My attempt at being artistic, haha. This is from an outing at the lake back at Northwestern with my friends. We were "studying" there, but we were packing up to go home. Elizabeth took a picture of my pop can with Yooney walking in the background. I liked the picture, so I messed around in photoshop to get just the can in color and everything else in black and white. Which I then thought looked cool, so I iconned it. It's pretty lame, I know.

From spoonerknife:

- The text on this icon says subtext. It's my icon for gayness, because Faith and Buffy are pretty darn gay together, come on. It's so gay it's not subtext anymore, it's maintext. This scene is the one where just seconds before, both of them had knives to each other's throats.. and then Faith knocks Buffy's arm away (and you know that means Buffy let her do it), pulls her head close to her and kisses her on the forehead. ... GAY. The writers have even admitted to telling Eliza Dushku to up the sexual tension between the two of them because it WORKED. And maybe Buffy was like, the straightest person ever.. but Faith could probably change her mind ^_^ But yeah, it's my icon for when I squee about subtext and such.

- This is a character from one of the best webcomics ever, Something Positive. I forget what she's crying about, but I find it funny that her mascara is running ridiculously and she's eating cookie dough from the tube. I originally used it as my "sad" icon, but now that I have more appropriately sad icons, I use it when I'm making light of a "sad" situation. I think it's too comical for actual sad usage.

- See above.

- My Bend It Like Beckham icon! Because I adore that movie. This is the scene where Jess and Jules are laughing at a bus stop and kind of hanging off each other. Jess's sister's soon-to-be in-law's drive by and see the scene, and assume Jules is a guy and that they're kissing. Of course, this causes all sorts of drama. Jess tries to explain "it's just a misunderstanding." But considering the original plot called for them being gay together.. how much of a misunderstanding is it REALLY? =P I pretty much have it because I love the movie and I love them and there's sadly a strong lack of fic for them, seriously.

- Okay Tegan and an eyepatch, how am I supposed to resist?! This is an awesome scene from The Con DVD, where Tegan is trying to explain why her left eye is "droopy." (the best part are the bloopers that follow the first part) So she's wearing the eyepatch to explain what she started doing when she first realized her eye was droopy. But it freaked out her mom, so she stopped. Anyway, point is Tegan is hilarious and cute and in an eyepatch. An icon was necessary. So I took it from floorshow.

- This is an icon of Lorelai from Gilmore Girls on a laptop. I have this icon for two simple reasons: I adore Lorelai and wanted an icon of her... and I needed a computer icon. Thus I got an icon of two in one. It's multifunctional! Lorelai really is amazing. I want to be her daughter. :( Or friend. Either one. I stole this one from thatlldopig

- I love Ten. Ten is the Doctor from Doctor Who. For those of you who don't know the plot of the show, pretty much The Doctor is this alien character who instead of dying, can "regenerate" or form a new healthy body. Since this is his tenth body, he's called Ten. The thing with Ten is that he's pretty much the youngest, hottest Doctor there is. All the old Doctors were old and had no canon romances; they were pretty much dead in the sexuality department. But in the scene this icon is capped from, Rose (or okay, someone that took over Rose's body.. this show is COMPLICATED, okay?) has just snogged him senseless, and he just stands there looking altogether stunned. I loved the scene and the text, so I stole it from nostalgia_lj

From losdosmos:

- Hehe. Kim made this icon for me too. A while ago, Kim made these icons for Veronica Mars with a lot of the main characters that were in this style. Slut!whoever and a little phrase to go with it. Like, Slut!Veronica "now with more whatever!" I can't really remember it, but they were funny. (Kim deleted the post or I'd link to it) Anyway, I was amused, so Kim decided to make me one too.. unfortunately I'm rarely slutty.. so the picture is me holding my Firefly DVDs, because I'm at least a whore about my fandoms. This icon also spawned this post in which I tried looking for a better picture of myself. Good times.

- So, I love sweater vests. I just.. do. I know, I know, completely unfashionable and geek to the max. But I like wearing them. And I find them attractive on people. Anyway, I think Yooney was making fun of me one day for it.. and I had asked people to make me icons to fill in all my available spaces. So Yooney made me this icon, and since Yooney made it for me, I kept it.

- There's this joke that uses math to prove Girls are evil. There's a retaliation joke that proves Boys are more evil. (Ignore the mispellings of state and time; I couldn't find a better image) Emily (dragonnite55555) thought it was funny so she decided to make an icon of it using symbols for things like "girls, boys, time, money, evil, etc." When she posted it, I thought it was awesome, so I stole it :)

- I love Daria! I really want the DVDs, but I don't think they're out yet, and if they are I probably don't have the money for them. But I re-watched the whole series about a year ago and had to have an icon of the BFFs. I went searching for an icon, and like two people were making Daria ones. good_is_dead who is no longer an LJ user, apparently, made this one which I liked a lot, so I was in luck. I remember back in high school, Kim equated a lot of what was going on in life to this show. Kim was Daria, I was Jane. It didn't make much sense to me, but sure.

- See above :)

- This is an icon from Wonderfalls. When I first watched this series, I was so mad that it was cancelled. It had seriously so much potential and a fantastic storyline. The fact that Pushing Daisies is doing well almost makes up for Fox's stupid decision to axe this one.. since this show was one of Bryan Fuller's former projects, and the main character on PD is the brother from Wonderfalls. Anyway, after I first watched it, I joined a lot of Wonderfalls comms to try to find icons. None really hit me, because it was a dead show by this time and not many people were still iconing. But then oregonblondie posted a bunch including this one. I wasn't looking for a Sharon icon (that's the main character's sister.. who is actually often rather annoying.. but that's her purpose), but I thought this one looked really cool and played on the mastery that is the cinematography of Bryan Fuller-headed shows. So I took it.

- See above :)

ZOMG THE END.

P.S. So when mreyeliner told me that Tegan and Sara were going to make an appearance at the Ann Arbor Borders, I really really wanted to go. It's happening on the 27th, which not only is a Tuesday, meaning I'll be taking the day off and going all the way to Ann Arbor for a grand total of about four hours, but is also the day before I will have gone to the second concert of theirs within 4 months. This is too obessive/pathetic of me, y/n?
