Hey ya'll,
So my knee is healing.. The tissue surrounding my knee cap has a lot of fluid in it and it's making this creaky sound.. kind cool. I'm now on a lot of mild pain killers and am allowed to wear my knee brace to bed! woo!
I just came back from the faculty collage recital. I got there kinda late, because I thought it started at 10pm. You know, 10/10 at 10pm.. my brain haaates me. It actually started at 8pm, oops. So I sat in the back by Shawn "the thunder" wallace, unknowingly. (He's like this amazing jazz sax teacher and I really can't imagine why he's at OSU..?) I came in just in time to see the flute teacher (name means breast in dutch) playing on the left ledge of the auditorium. I hope when I'm that good I get a cool ledge to play on, with my piano. The concert was cool, it switched between all the different faculty performers.. even Pete Tender played Billy Joel! (I love that my music tech teacher is named Mr. Tender) My favorite part was when all the Musicology faculty performed.. there was a banjo & West African cora duet then a Native American Flute player on the later part of the program. I've really been getting into ethnic type music lately. There's just a timeless quality about it, that when you listen you are taken back to another time. I kind of get tired of modern day instruments sometimes, there's only so much you can do. So maybe I'll take up jug blowing or African drumming again. :D I also like different types of flutes too. (not going anywhere with this.. I just like the different sounds) I really want to take a musicology class, but I here it's really difficult because you can't understand many of the teachers. Oh well.. I'll see what happens.. I'm thinking of minoring in African Studies or something along those lines. To end the concert was a Stomp-like quintet with all the "Clean-Up Professors" from Hughes Hall. They were called Tolerably Dingy, sorry to say I wasn't that impressed. I guess if I had those teachers I would transfer again. But the whole point of this concert was you have to HAVE FUN WITH MUSIC, otherwise why the hell are you doing it?
I was also mad that the jazz faculty was missing the trumpet professor and played autumn leaves (an easy enough piece) instead of Skippy, a very challenging piece. Ohhh well, I'm sure they have a good reason, they are Jazz musicians after all. ;0)
Live to Love,
Cayce
Also, I'm not really high I just thought the little mouse smoking a joint was hilarious!
