"There's more to the picture then meets the eye"
I no longer work in Duane reade as of December 1st...as much as I was tired to be there, I was also content...let me explain what happened...
On November 26...Karen(employee) was bitching about how she wasn't paying for the things shes gonna eat and so on...5 mins later ..she says "I need razers" "I ain't going to pay 17.99 for no damn razers" "Maria?, I want you to scan the item, but don't really scan it..make it 99cents taxable" so I got the idea that she wanted me to modify the price ...at that moment my stomach was hurting and I told Karen "Holy crap, I'm gonna get introuble" Karen in return tells me "People do mad shit around here, you don't know, people be stealin" And so I did it...stupid me ...On November 30th Alam the manager asks if I can come to work at ten in the morning ...and I said sure...he asked the same to Karen...
Dec 1st : For the first time in my life I was early to work...30mins early...
At 12:57 Alam introduces me to his boss and tells me to go to his office with him...and so I went in the office...he sat down and said "I'm gonna ask you some questions about the store" I said I've only been here for 3 weeks and a half ...he's like ok...let me ask you this, In that period of time did you modify? And I confessed...but before I did I told him I'm gonna get fired aren't I? and he said not yet...tell me the truth because its all on tape.
I actually fell into tears because I was guilty ...Violation paper ...sign...striped down one by one...my name tag, my card, and then my blue vest thingie...and then there was the door...
