Quick Movie Review: Mongol

Nov 14, 2008 20:26

Mongol (Blu-Ray / Release Date: 2007 / MPAA Rating: R / Running Time: 2 hrs., 6 min. ) was a very interesting movie about the early life of Temudjin - up to the point where he was declared Genghis Khan. It is a Kazakhstan movie in Mongolian. I obviously watched it with English subtitles. It has been a long time since I read The Devil's Horsemen by James Chambers; so, I can really judge the historical accuracy of the events of the movie. I found the story to be fascinating. The acting was good. The battles were bloody. It is apparently the first of a planned trilogy on Genghis Khan.

RECOMMENDATION: I would strongly recommend the movie if you are interested in the early life of Genghis Khan and do not mind reading subtitles.
