Quick DVD Review: Family Guy: Blue Harvest

Feb 26, 2008 19:38

Family Guy: Blue Harvest ( Standard DVD / Original Air Date: 23 September 2007 / MPAA Rating: Not Rated / Running Time: 48 min. ) is an extraordinarily funny spoof of the original Star Wars. I have only seen a few episodes of Family Guy - just enough to recognize the characters. That did not stop me from enjoying the "movie."

This is not for children. The jokes are very adult (Obi-wan Kenobi is a pedophile!) and the f-bomb was said at least once.

Plot Outline: A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, the cast of Family Guy stepped into the plot of Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope - and the result is this hourlong epic that kicked off the show's sixth season. When Princess Leia (Lois) is captured by Darth Vader (Stewie), Luke (Chris) risks his life to save her. Aiding him on his quest are Chewbacca (Brian), a well-spoken Wookiee, and Han Solo (Peter), a bumbling spice smuggler.

Trivia: Blue Harvest was the working title for Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Watched 2008: #19 of 100.
