omg ok havent updated in a while but this is cause for one!!
i spent all friday at the classic center for the turner classic movies film festival with sophie, and we had free tickets. and OMG
i love classic films now
especially westerns
paul newman is my man, yheeehaw!
anyway
i met jane powell from 7 Brides for 7 Brothers
shes sooo sweet and cute and omg shes wonderful, great movie, rent it
then i ate in the same room, and shook hands with maximillian schell who is an academy award winning director, haha who did a documentary called Marlene, and I met Robert Osbourne, the guy from turner classic, and hes sooo smart and nice!!
anyway enouhg of that stuff, the main wonderful part was seeing all of those wonderful films all day
i saw Triplets of Belleville, very good
and i saw Cinema Paradiso, AMAZING< so nostalgic and wonderful, i cried so much
and then we watched Hud, a GREAT western starring the one and only Paul Newman, that was just amazing and such a beautiful piece of work.
they also showed news reels from the era the movies were shot, and a realy great betty boop cartoon called "the old man of the mountain" and it was sooooo great, i love her
anyway go to the rest of the festival this weekend, saturday is playing One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Adventures of Robin Hood (arrol flynns daughter will be there to discuss her dad and the film), and Marlene, which im very excited to finally get to see. on sunday is casablanca, im sooo excited, the daughter of either bergmans or bogarts will be there, and the son of either one, i forget which, but yeah thats exciting!!
