I always think...
...that on the rare occasions I take a sick day, that I'll get all kinds of stuff done around the house or finish sorting through old photos or finish a book or write a long LJ post or whatever.
However, I only ever take a sick day when I'm so ill that I'm useless. Given that my job primarily entails sitting in front of a computer, "useless" means I can't even concentrate on anything. So none of those grand designs ever come to fruition. I did feel a bit better towards the end of the day managed some light cleaning.
Protip: Wadded-up newspaper is a great for cleaning glass surfaces, it's way better than paper towels.
