So my credit card company suffered a security breach that may have exposed my card number and they've sent me a new credit card. They want me to activate the new card, which will disable my old card...
...the card I used to buy
Eurostar tickets from London to Paris and back...
...the card that the Eurostar website insists I "MUST" use when I get there in order to pick up my tickets. I have no idea what would happen if I brought a defunct card, and no amount of Googling or emailing Eurostar has yielded an answer. Maybe I'll try calling them tomorrow morning - they have limited hours so that's the only time I could reach them by phone.
Apparently, what I need to do is call my credit card company every 4 days so they can keep my card temporarily active until I don't need it anymore. If I miss a call, the card dies. What am I, a secret agent?
I really don't want to have to try and explain this mess in my rusty, kindergarten-level French.
In other news, the
Origins events list was released today! That's good! However, registration starts tomorrow. That's...not quite as good. For me, anyway. Especially since I stupidly didn't buy our badges yet and the badge registration is closed until tomorrow. (And presumably you need a badge to buy events.)
BTW - We're still looking for roommates for Origins...
