God, you're so my kinda person! If you tell me you loved Shutter Island, Lamb, and Persuasion, I just might have to make you my new best friend!

I LOVED Persuasion. I think it might be my favorite Jane Austen book, even though I still have to read Emma (I'm very familiar with its plot though). I also thought Shutter Island was incredibly awesome. And now for the bad news. I did not love Lamb. I kind of just felt "meh" about it.

P&P is still my fave Austen novel, but Persuasion was great. Emma was good, too, but the main character (Emma, duh!) was so annoying and meddlesome!

Shutter Island's being made into a film with Leo DiCaprio and directed by Martin Scorsese. I'm so excited for it!

And boo on the 'meh' Lamb reaction! That was one of my fave reads last year! Oh well, different strokes for different folks!

I think it's been about 8 years since I've read P&P. I've been meaning to reread it, but have never gotten around to it. I really should read it again.

I am super excited for the movie version of Shutter Island. I peaked at the cast list before I started reading, so I just pictured the actors involved as the main characters. Too bad it's not going to come out for over a year! I hate to wait that long.

With Lamb, there were parts that I enjoyed, but there were also times when I got bored with it. The parts that I enjoyed were really good, but the boring parts kind of dampened my overall opinion of the book. I think it was definitely a very creative idea for a book.

Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman <3
Have you read any of his other books?

And Shutter Island is one my favorite books.

No, I haven't read any of Klosterman's other books. Someone on my friends list recommended that I read Killing Yourself To Live, so I have added it to my "to read" list. I have no idea what the book is about, but I really like the title.

Shutter Island is an awesome book. I haven't read anything else by Dennis Lehane, but now I would really like to.

67. Grave of the Fireflies

I had to have myself a Simpsons marathon after watching this because I was a wreck.

I LOVED Persepolis! I kept repeating "ABBA is for wimps" afterwards. Have you read the graphic novels?

Grave of the Fireflies was incredibly depressing. I can't remember what I did after I finished watching, but I'm sure it was something to try and cheer myself up.

No, I have not read the Persepolis graphic novels. After watching the movie, I was curious to see how the two compared. I read The Watchmen earlier this month, and it was my first time reading a graphic novel. I enjoyed it and liked the style, so I should probably try Persepolis too some day.

Oh, wow! That's awesome. Thanks so much for sharing! I made my own Jeff Buckley mood theme and looked at tons of pictures while putting it together, but that post has some pictures that I've never seen before. He was such a beautiful man both inside and out. Thanks again, and I hope you enjoy the holidays!
