Excuse me, do you mind not farting while I'm saving the world?
Today I had barbecued chicken for breakfast. My dad barbecued last night, and I was craving chicken when I woke up, so I just went for it. I woke up at about 8:30 this morning. What is wrong with me? I should still be sleeping! I wish I could sleep in, but I have been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately. Yesterday, I didn't have to get up until 7am for work, but after waking up at 6am, I could not fall back asleep. I'm always so tired, but cannot sleep.
Working on Saturdays sucks - especially when you work two Saturdays in a row. I was outside for the majority of the morning and got badly sunburned. It didn't even occur to me to put on sunscreen. Duh. At least it was just my arms and face that got burned. I hope the redness goes away soon. Many things did not go as planned yesterday, and I'm dreading going back to work tomorrow. I hope I don't get blamed for the majority of the things that went wrong. I probably will though.
I love that Little Big League and Rookie of the Year were on at the same time this morning. Along with the Sandlot, my brother and I used to watch those movies all the time when we were younger. I really loved baseball, but now I don't care for it. I used to watch it on TV, and every summer my dad, brother, and I would go to a couple of White Sox games. My brother and I collected baseball cards (I still have them somewhere in my closet) and we even played games where we pretended to be our favorite baseball players. Things sure have changed. Or maybe I should say my brother and I sure have changed.
No plans today but to just relax. My sister has a dance recital, but I really do not want to go. Today is my day to be lazy! I went last year, and she hasn't asked me to go this year (even though I'm sure she really wants me to go), so I'm going to try and stay home. I guess I'm a bad sister.
I finally finished reading Special Topics in Calamity Physics. It took me about 2 weeks to get through it, and I never take that long to read a book. I had been enjoying it, but then I got to the ending, and all I can really say is WTF? I heard that if you re-read the book, you can find clues/answers to a lot of things. No thanks, I ain't spending another two weeks reading that book again. I already returned it to the library anyways. I want to know if anyone has figured out who the murderer was. I know they are making the book into a movie, so maybe that will shed some light on a couple of things. Too bad the earliest it will come out is 2009. Now I'm reading A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. So far, I find it incredibly boring. I've been trying to read at least one "classic" novel each month, so that is this month's choice. I hope it gets better.
