That book meme that has been going around...
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open it to page 161.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.
"Hey...hang loose catboy...it's jist likesay animals n that, likes...dinnae worry aboot that shit...ah wis jist thinkin ay innocent wee things, like Dawn the bairn, ken...ye shouldnae hurt things, likes..."
No, I'm not typing drunk. I'm currently reading Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh. Pretty much the whole book is written like that. It is taking a lot of concentration for me to understand what the hell the characters are saying. It doesn't help that the point of view switches almost every chapter and sometimes I have no idea who is narrating. I figured I should read the book because Trainspotting is one of my favorite movies.
- I finished reading Wigfield last week. While I was reading, I would think, "I know this is supposed to be funny, but it's not working." I felt like the authors were trying too hard. It wasn't a terrible book, but I expected more from Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello, and Stephen Colbert.
- How did I not know about
Google Book Search? I haven't really explored it much, but it seems pretty awesome.
- My mom, sister, and I went over to my aunt Barb's house today to celebrate various birthdays (Sister = Jan. 20, Mom = Jan. 24, Me = Feb. 1, Brother = Feb. 7, cousin Jamie = Feb. 9). We played Scattergories, and I won 2 out of 3 rounds. I rule at that game. For dinner, my aunt and uncle made a bunch of food - turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, rolls, etc. It was just like Thanksgiving and was very delicious. We brought over an ice cream cake for dessert. This ice cream cake came from Jewel, and I'm sorry to say, did not taste very good. But because I'm a pig, I ate a big piece anyway. My aunt got my mom the same exact pair of earrings that my sister and I bought her for Christmas. Oh, snap! My mom might exchange them for something else or she might keep them because she is always losing earrings and thinks having an extra pair would be helpful.
- I didn't get to watch The Grammys because I wasn't at home. It doesn't really matter though. Even though I love music, I hardly ever watch The Grammys. My cousins did switch it on every once and awhile, and I got to see John Mayer win an award, but I missed his performance. I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm a fan of John Mayer. He seems kind of like a douche in real life, but I do like his music and am glad that Continuum won something.
