It is quite a misfortune to be born the eldest of three.

I didn't do anything on New Year's Eve - I even missed the count down.  My sister and I were watching a movie, and then we heard fire crackers outside.  I looked at the clock and realized it was midnight.  Oops.  On New Year's Day we went over to my Aunt Barb's house.  She and her family were supposed to come over to our house, but plans changed.  I prefer going to their house anyways.  We found out that my uncle lost his job right before Christmas.  What a wonderful present from his company.

On Tuesday night I received an unexpected call from Kristina.  She and Tim were in town again visiting Tim's parents.  I got together with them on Wednesday.  We ate lunch and then went to the mall.  It's what we basically do every time they're in town.  As we said goodbye, Kristina said, "I'll see you next Thanksgiving!"  It's crazy to think that it will be that long before we see each other again.  Although, I have been thinking about going to visit them this summer.  They've said that I'm always welcome to come stay at their place.  I've never been to California before, and I'd really like to go sometime.

The past two years I've kept a list of the books that I've read.  This year I think I'll also try to keep track of the movies I've seen.  I've been watching a lot of movies this past week: Strangers With Candy, Thank You For Smoking, Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story, Lucky Number Slevin, The King, and Howl's Moving Castle. I didn't think any of these movies were all that great, but they weren't terrible either.

As for books, I've only ready Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones.  I really liked it.  I actually saw the movie first (a couple of months ago) and finally got around to reading the book.  I watched the movie again today.  I like both, but I like the book better.  I usually always like the book better. I did like the movie version of The Devil Wears Prada better than the book, and I liked both versions of The Lord of the Rings series. Anywho, now I am reading The Mercy of Thin Air by Ronlyn Domingue. So far, so good.
