We read to know we are not alone

Shit, I just went to spell check my post and it all disappeared. Grr, let's try this again...

If anyone is bored and has nothing better to do, do you want to help me decide what to eat for breakfast tomorrow? I'm going to this place called the Egg Harbor Cafe for a co-worker's birthday, and I've never been there before. Here's their breakfast menu. I'm not a big fan of eggs and usually only eat them if they're scrambled, but since the place has "egg" in its name, I'd be willing to try an egg dish. Right now, almost everything sounds good, but I'm leaning towards one of their pancakes or french toast: blackberry-banana, cinnamon roll, banana bread, or original raisin. So, does anything sound really good to you?

Usually for birthdays, I'm uncreative and just buy gift cards. This time, however, I decided to buy a book. This co-worker and I discussed books fairly recently (she's the one who lent me A Thousand Splendid Suns). She said she likes depressing books where the characters struggle and undergo hardships, but have a somewhat happy ending. I couldn't think of any books that I've really enjoyed that fit that description, so I just got her The Time Traveler's Wife. It's one of my favorites and it is depressing at parts. Hopefully she'll like it.

Speaking of books, I was in a reading groove, but lost it last week. I started reading The Good Thief by Hannah Tinti one day and read a little more the next, but haven't picked it up since. I actually like the book so far, but I've been kind of busy and when I do have free time, I choose to be lazy and just watch movies and catch up on TV shows. Tonight I plan on watching Lost and that new show The Unusuals. I should have a little time before that to read. I will force myself do it, and I will like it, dammit!
