A day at the zoo
I went to the zoo last Friday, and now I'm finally getting around to posting my pictures. It was hot, but actually not too bad. I had a fun time, even though one of my favorite animals there (the sand cat) wasn't there. There was no explanation either. A lot of times if an animal has died or been moved somewhere else, there will be a sign explaining what happened. Now I don't know what happened. I hope it's okay, but I have a feeling it died. Anywho, I ended up taking a ton of photos (as usual) so here are a few.
Lion

Spectacled Bear. S/he was laying on his/her back the whole time, staring at people. It was adorable.
Two sloth bear sisters. I'm surprised they were all cuddled up with each other because it was so hot.
Baby polar bear. He was so cute. He kept laying on his stomach, trying to reach that stick with his paws.
Success! He finally got his ass up and jumped down to get it. I cannot believe how big he has gotten. Here are two photos from last year so you can see the difference.

Giraffe
Like last year, I got to touch the stingrays again. They are slimy. There were sharks in there too, but they were all hiding by the little waterfall, so I didn't get to touch or see any.
Underwater shot of a seal or sea lion. I know this photo isn't the greatest, but I like it. I'm surprised that it turned out at all. The seal/sea lion was a fast swimmer, and I took this through glass.
Here is an other seal or sea lion - upside down. Its face looks weird.
Penguin. Aww, it looks like s/he is trying to fly. The truth, however, was that s/he just got out of the water and was shaking the water off.
Sometimes monkeys creep me out. This one was cute though.
And this one won the cute contest. I'm disappointed that all of my photos of him/her turned out blurry. S/he kept looking at people and turning his/her head from side to side, like s/he was super interested and curious about everyone.
Gorilla mother and baby. Aww, this baby has gotten big too. Here's a photo from when the baby was really young. And here are two more when the baby was slightly older.
