Today I spent my afternoon at a flea market. It was packed, and I have never seen it so crowded before. It wasn't too hot out, but the sun was really strong. I didn't wear any sunscreen, but it doesn't look like I got burned. Hopefully I'll have a bit of a tan. I'm still so very, very white. I did some people watching, which was kind of interesting. Many people made some interesting/questionable clothing choices, and I saw quite a few fanny packs. We usually go to this flea market a couple of times during the summer even though we rarely buy anything. A lot of times people are just selling junk. But we always have to buy their very tasty lemonade and yummy cinnamon roasted nuts. My sister and I usually get jewelry, which is what we got today. I took a picture of the pendant I bought, but it didn't turn out that great.
It's a little bigger than the jewelry I normally wear, but I thought it was pretty and interesting looking.
Yesterday for the 4th, my parents, my sister and I went over to my aunt Barb and Uncle Jim's house. When we got there, we ended up eating a ton of snacks and talking about movies. Then we decided to play tennis. I didn't really want to play, but I went along anyway. There were six of us at the tennis courts, and we decided to play my family (my mom, sister, and I) vs. their family (my aunt, cousin Corey, and cousin Allyson). My cousin Lauren came along too, but because she jumped onto a movie car (WTF?), her knee was hurt and she could only watch us. We played for a bit, and then Lauren and my aunt got into a long conversation about belts, which then changed into a conversation about being a cop and morphed into talking about drugs and good cities to live in in Illinois. Everyone was getting involved in the conversation and still trying to play tennis, but it just wasn't working. We finally gave up and went back to their house. My uncle barbecued and we ate burgers and hot dogs outside. Brownies, cake, and ice cream soon followed. Once it started getting dark, we left to watch fireworks. It was a really good show, and I uploaded a whole bunch of pictures.
