Difficult caller

On Friday, i had to deal with this obnoxiously arrogant Philosophy professor at work.

He was having problems connecting to one of the network drives here and called for help. This guy even refused to give me his first name and sounded so annoyed that i asked for it, that in that moment, i knew that this call would not be a pleasant one. After telling me that i could not understand his problem (from the poor and inaccurate description he gave me), he asked me to talk to someone who would know how to solve his problem. He basically refused to follow the regular procedure and wanted immediate assistance, which only the president of the school gets. I guess that guys thinks he is the most prestigious philosopher in NY. Personally, i like to think that people as arrogant as him are just frustrated because they are not as good as they would like to be.

Anyway, that fucker got me pretty upset so i decided to email the director of tech services. He is a pretty cool guy, so i figured he would let some people know about this and make them aware of the behavior of some faculty in the school. This morning, i received an email from the director of tech services telling me that he sent a note (with the email i sent him attached to it) to the vice president of information resources, the provost, the assistant vice president of human resources, and the ombudsman. He told me that he has also talked to that professor in the past and the he has always been way out of line. Apparently, i was lucky enough to not hearing him cursing and insulting me.

Anyway, now i'm pretty curios about how this will end. I really hope the director of tech services will keep me posted about this. They need to call him for a meeting and tell him to stop being a douche bag.

work, gc, arrogance
