In a case like this, I would just accept it graciously.

[he speaks from experience. After all he's used to having some ghost girl drape herself over him back home.]

Just don't seem like you're leading it on and you'll be alright.

[His tones are soft, and hurting.]

No, Shiro. I... I just can't do that, because it would be leading the ghost on. I can't do that, can't pretend I'm open to a relationship.

[Yeah, Nadia (Hayden's ex-girlfriend who hates his guts for killing their teammates) screwed him up badly. Hayden doesn't want to deal with emotions like that just yet, even with Jigoku helping him to figure himself out.]

[Oh lord, yes he knows that tone all too well]

You don't even have to say you are open to it. Just a thanks but no thanks as they say I suppose?

I take it yours seemed rather personal? If they do supposedly know us as well as they seem to then I'm sure that they'll understand -- hopefully at least.

[Ah yes, he also knows that feeling, though it's more getting the blame for all the crap his Original put the Epsilon Project through. Hurts like hell. Hayden has Shiro's empathy.]

I'm going to try that route, though knowing the ghosts here...

[He sighs. So frustrating.]

More... creepy and stalkerish, if I had to say. A lot of gushing about things that I don't really see in myself, and the kind of 'we'll be together forever' undertone that makes me wonder if the thing was on medication, or ought to be. I'm many things, but a good, noble person isn't one I can ever see myself as.

Hayden one thing I've learnt is that sometimes in order to see things in yourself others must aid you to see them. As they tend to see you from an outsider's perspective.

[He laughs]

What is a 'good' person anymore these days? It's all down to interpretations of people's words.
