[Dream]

(I have no skills with LJ HTML... http://community.livejournal.com/jigoku_ooc/104430.html  [Plot event])

[The sky was every bit as cloudy as the apartments, but there was a different sense of danger, more active, more immediate.  There were buildings, abandoned and decaying, and occasionally inhuman,or all too human, howls echoed across the landscape.  Was that a...?  It couldn't have been.  There was no way such a thing had ever been human.  Hayden stands, listening dully.  A voice echoes out of the shadows between the buildings, the sky, or perhaps just Hayden's own twisted memories.]

'What did they tell you, Hayden?'  [and his own voice responds.]

'They said you had gone insane.'

'Ah, but they said the same of you, didn't they?  Unstable.  Psychotic.  Unfit for duty and yet... they still sent you in spite of the fact you are so... broken.'

[There is the sickening thunk of a blade tearing into flesh, and Hayden drops to his knees, letting out a startled cry.  His right shoulder and arm are suddenly bleeding, and for those who've never seen him without it, the fact that the metal skin isn't there covering it may seem a jarring note in the dream.  The voice continues on, relentless.]

'But I can fix you.'  [There's a sense that something is lost in the blur of dreaming, a command or an order of some kind.]

'You know of the Lotus?  Prized as a rare beauty... and yet, it blooms amidst filth and decay.  Of course, you die in the process.  But I think you, of all people, deserve it.'  [Hayden covers his arm, even as it shifts in the fashion of dreams to the virus infected version of it.  He answers the voice, a rueful smile on his lips.]

'Maybe I did.'  [The voice answers back, mockingly.]

'Then find your way, Hayden.  Find it and kill me... if you can.'
