Winter Meetings 2005
Things are starting to heat up in Dallas.
The Braves have already made 2 deals.
->C Johnny Estrada to Arizona for RHP Oscar Villareal and RHP Lance Cormier(bullpen help)
-> RHP Danny Kolb back to Milwaukee for RHP Wes Oburmueller(more bullpen, hes long relief/spot starter)
ALSO
possible 3 team trade with Atlanta, Tampa Bay and Boston
Atlanta gets: SS Edgar Renteria, possibly CP Dany Baez
Tampa Bay gets: 3B Andy Marte, possibly other prospects
Boston gets: SS Julio Lugo
....unfortunately it fell apart
but Atlanta and Boston are still working on an exchange that includes Renteria and Marte.
(I hope the Renteria deal goes through, because it fills the gap at SS and the Red Sox would agree to pay some of his contract.)
P.S. Clemens has been cut loose by the Astros. Would Atlanta pick him up?? Doubtful. BUT imagine, what a 1-2-3 Clemens, Smoltz, Hudson. Unfourtunately, u cant have everything in life.
