Amazing show
last night was lamb of god with trivium, machine head, and gojira. first ill start by saying im still upset with the chick who threw out my water bottle. i walk in and she grabs it and tosses it in the garbage. so i go in the garbage, i take it out, i open it, and i drink it. i wanted to rip her head off. (dont worry the cap was on and there was nothing bad in the garbage so i wasnt all gross and stuff). aaron then had to throw out his chains. stupid people.
so gojira is a french metal band, with an earily soothing but heavy metal sound. similar to mastodon but still very different. they were fun. machine head was what i was expecting. i had a good time during their set, there were plenty of circle pits so you cant go wrong there. the big problem was the talking. repeatedly i heard people shouting 'i didnt pay to listen to you bitch'. trivium came on, and while i love their music, their set was a little less fun than i was expecting. all the videos ive seen of them have been amazing, including the one of them in rochester (at waterstreet with in flames). this particular show though seemed lacking for them. anyway, lamb of god came on and opened with hourglass. immediatly the pit was huge. the two best moments though were definitly during vigil, where there was the biggest circle pit ive ever seen. they had a dude with a huge camera in the middle so we are all probably somewhere on the internet or going to be on a dvd. kinda cool. the best moment though was the wall of death during black label. randy blythe: "you know this song, you know what to do, this is black label" everyone gets on one side or the other. the drums hit, the symbols hit, a few moments later...1...2...3...go. it was awesome. i got stuck in the middle at first after getting nocked in the jaw once or twice. i was just trying to keep my ballance while helping people up. then i got thrown out of the middle and landed on aaron.
long story short, it was amazing. other than my leg and my jaw being sore, im relitively fine. aaron didnt come out so lucky. but he was in the pit practically the entire night. i saw him get kicked in the gut, punched in the nose, bleeding out of his lip, chipped his tooth, and his knees got snaped back by the fatass dude in a white shirt. hes a trooper though. youd never know it form lookin at him but hes one of the toughest kids i know. seriously
