Cloudscape-Self Titled 94/100

I just picked this cd up from an online music store. And as I said before, im going to start reviewing albums at least once a month. Maybe more if i get some time. I got to hear Cloudscape's second album Crimson Skies before i got to hear this one. And i actually like Crimson Skies a little more. Maybe its because i heard that one first, who knows. The self titled is a little heavier actually. This is progressive power Metal in the same vein as Symphony x, Symphorce, or perhaps Tad Morose (For its catchiness). In my eyes, this band can do no wrong. I mean, how can you write such good cathy Power Metal? Most bands fall flat when they try. And most power metalheads know that. There are a few kick ass bands like Pagan's Mind and Nevermore, but they are few and far between.

Anyway, in my mind, on this particular album, they solo just a tad more, and guitar has a little more bite to it than on Crimson Skies. There is more riffing and less melodies, but no less catchy. The keyboards are there to add element, but they aren't in the front. If you like music to drink to, i think you should pick this bands cd's up and give them a try, as their music is very ripping. Its funny, but the more i listen to this cd, the more i like it. Right now i give it a 94 out of 100 points, but i got a feeling that will change because im becoming more familiar with this material. I hope this band becomes as big as Symphony x because they deserve it.

Some songs i recommend

Under Fire
Losing Faith
Everyday is up to you
In These Walls
