update, update, update!
so, for the past two weeks i've been in new mexico. one, for the presbyterian peacemaking conference, and second for some family vacation.
the peacemaking conference is something my family has been doing for the past, lets say... seven years. i guess i've really been involved with the program for the past four, working on staff, planning teams, etc. this year the conference was at the ghost ranch conference center in abiquiu, new mexico. Ghost Ranch is probably one of the most beautiful places i've ever been. The area was given to the church and conference center and the 21,000 acres is amazing. The main conference area is surrounded by mesas and complete desert. next year i'll be the technical person again for the conference, so that should be fun and a lot of work as well. the conference next year is in colorado up in the rockies. (call me if you wanna go next year its gonna be a lot of fun) i met a lot of really cool people and had so much fun with people is see almost every year.
being is such an amazing place with a lot of cool people, of course i took a ton of pictures! i got them developed yesterday and they look amazing! here's the thing... my parents, always making things difficult, think that i should get them copyrighted... i don't know what to think. is it really worth that? they're hoping it will be another way that i can make money and sell them as gift cards and shit, plus they don't want me putting them up on webshots and having people have free access to them... first of all, i'm not a professional photographer and they aren't that great, second, why shouldn't i let my friends and others see them? let me know what you think and then i'll decide. (i think i'm gonna put them up anyways so you can see them for a little bit, but check them soon)
a part of the conference that i really like is that it is very diverse in race and age. a few of the cool people i met are asian americans, like myself, and i think i might go to a conference for AA's in chicago in august. i think that would be a lot of fun and a good experience for me.
until then i need to find a source of income... the search is on!
