With a sweep of Gold, the Sands of Time reach the Present
Yeah. I’m all right. Sorry for the long time that it took to post anything. I’ve been doing work over the summer at a movie theatre and then school started back up. So I’ve been around and busy and stuff. Partially it’s due to my own inherent laziness as well. *frowns* I do have that problem yes… Doesn’t help with schoolwork much either. XD Anyways, for a quick update. We left off with my family reunion. That was really fun and I got to see several people that I hadn’t known before. Though it was different cause this time around I didn’t really feel as huggy as I normally do and because I didn’t go up and greet people as friendly like as others, some people kinda felt hurt by that. But hey, people change and get different views and stuff, so I’m not upset or anything. They can feel that way if they want to. Never said I disliked them. I just didn’t feel the need to greet as much this year. But other than that, the games and get togethers were very nice. I was most active in the evenings after the heat began to decrees so that’s when people saw me most, afternoons and nights. The trips home and there were for the majority uneventful. Got to play some Gameboy so that was fun.
And then it was back to job for the rest of the summer, but not really. For some reason, about five weeks after nii-san and I started working at the theatre, the management cut back on everyone’s hours for no reason. I went from a twenty-eight to thirty-two hour week to an eight to twelve hour week. After the trip however, nii-san and I really were never put back on the schedule. Over the whole months of July, nii-san only worked for three days, and that together was about… oh…thirteen hours total. As for me, I got to work one more day than him that month so bump me up to about sixteen hours. We got sick of that and since we had college coming up, we quit about a week earlier than we had planned to. I mean, hey. We hadn’t been on the schedule for the past two weeks. Why would they put us back on another? So the bottom line there was that the job itself was awesome. Indoor and not much physical labor and no long times of dealing with asinine customers. Paid for doing pretty much nothing. But the hours sucked big time. So bummer there. There were three cute guys there and one like… major hot boy!… but that’s just the eye candy so whoo-hoo. XD
Next up is school. I’m a Technical Writing major with a minor in Creative Writing. So this semester my advisor told me I needed to get all my Literature classes done so I could advance in m field, cause I came into the major my fourth semester, in other words, late. So yes, I’m glad I got a bunch of English courses, four to be exact, but the fact that all of them have literature at their basis means that I’m reading stuff almost “twenty-four seven,” which is another matter entirely. I’m more of a writer English person than I am a reader English person so it’s more difficult that I thought. But I have to do it and in all honesty, it may be tedious but it is by no means hard. So if I can just keep on the ball and not fall too far behind, I’ll get good grades this semester, something I had better do or else. Leave it at that. All my teachers are really nice, save for one which kinda… doesn’t teach. She wants us to research things and then discuss them in class and if we ask her a question about the text in class, she commends us on the good question and turns it over to the other students to answer. So in other words, we can do all that at home online rather than go to class. Sides, I like to hear what a text means from someone who holds a position of authenticity in their interpretations rather than try to base my opinions on those of my peers. Like, she is a teacher, hello! Teach us something! If we just want to theorize amongst ourselves, we don’t have to be here. But still, it’s class and I can’t complain too much. I’m not allowed to write a report over six pages this year so I guess that’s good in two ways. I need to learn that skill and I don’t have a ton of work. So that’s the main update on school.
The family is doing fine. Won’t talk about dad cause I don’t care. Mom’s still in her job and she’s getting along nicely as always. Taking care the kitties and stuff. We’re going home to see the folks this weekend actually. Might purchase some stuff so that means shopping! Which is always good. Lets see… I’m kinda writing between readings so it’ll be shorter than most other things I sent. Nii-san and I aren’t in the same room anymore due to not getting applications for housing in early. But we’re in the same apartment so that’s still good. We spend the night and come over every now and then to each other’s rooms so it helps. The other roommates are good. Neither is anything hot, but then again, they’re not anything I can complain about either. Still, I’m not looking for relationship so yeah. Hot as blazes here and the storms that keep coming in aren’t helping as much as we’d hope. So like a fifteen minute walk across campus really kills me… or tries to. Heh. Either way, I’m not cut out for the heat, but I can’t leave it due to ties. So yeah. Boo-hoo. RP life? Well… To put it bluntly, the community pretty much finally got laid to rest. I suppose that technically it’s still running, but the major players, myself included, have moved on. But it’s okay. I’ve accepted it. Kinda hurts every now and then, but so does everything that is gone that we once were exceedingly fond of.
Well that’s the update on me for now. All classes are done early so I can have a good chunk of the day to work, eat, play, and so forth. Have to try and learn to multitask this year as well. What with all the reading I have to find a way to juggle else I’ll be in lock down mode the entire semester. That’ll drive me nuts. Don’t wanna see me there. Regardless, again, I’m sorry it took so long to put something up, but that’s the way life goes. Haven’t forgotten about all my good friends, but time hasn’t let up enough to actually do this. The planets aligned today I guess so that’s why I wrote this. ^c^ Hope you’re doing fine and I give all of you my best wishes and finest regards.
