Surviving Another Superbowl Sunday
What a fantastic weekend. We hosted the first Superbowl party at our house, and I must say, it went well. The house looked great, Aaron had the yard set up really nice. Chrissy and Dave Sr and JR showed up around noon and we started barbecuing the oysters. Yummy! What a great tradition. People started showing up after that, and continued to show up right until the end of the game. We had some of the Hartley family, and a lot of Aaron's friends that he doesn't see often. Overall a great group! The weather was perfect. We were lucky -- it started raining around 8. No major mishaps: Chrissy disappeared halfway through the game without saying bye, Brando's girlfriend Marnay was being a PSYCHO, but at least she was quiet about it and didn't cause a scene. Someone dribbled dark beer on the carpet, but it cleaned up, Aaron turned into a total DICK at the end of the night when it came time to clean up, but what else is new. I spilled chicken wings all over the inside of the oven, that will be fun to clean up. But a lot of people came out of the woodwork for this event. James & Joy showed up later with their baby-girl Christa. She was a DOLL. I need to remember to pass Maegan's clothes to them, they could use them. Aaron's nephews came, the guys from 3rd Rail, Tim, Rich & Rich, Phil & Sheridan, Melanie brought an AWESOME chocolate cream pie and whipped the whipped cream from scratch (I think half the guys were ready to marry her at that point!)Brando and Marnay came out from the city. Sean Beem won $150 in the football pool. Can't remember who else showed up at the moment, but everyone brought tons of food and beer. We have a lot left. Patriots won, it was a great game, and I actually got to watch part of it. It's hard for me to concentrate on football anymore, I'm out of practice.
I think we'll plan a bbq for Maegan's 2nd birthday. I enjoyed barbecuing and hanging out in our yard this weekend.
Saturday morning I did a step class and yoga. Kicked my ASS!! But I must say, I didn't get tired up. The only reason I couldn't totally keep is because I don't know the steps. Once I learn them it will be a great class. Definitely burning some calories there. Saturday night we went to a catered cocktail party at Jeff & Kim's. It was really nice. Kinda boring, but I ended up hooking up with some good people and had a nice time. Did some dancing, did some eating, did some drinking and still managed to stay sober. Got home by 11:00 so we weren't over-tired. Fucked like the MAD DOGS in the old days. Then again in the morning.
My calves are KILLING me today. Between the stop class and the high heels on Saturday night they are totally cramped.
I'm going to Vegas in May. I'm so excited! It's a girl trip with Chrissy and her friends. They got a great deal on some suites at the Venitian. Can't WAIT!
