In Loving Memory Of EMILY JEAN PHILLIPS (July 23, 1998 - April 11, 2006)

Today has been one month since my only dear niece, 7-year-old Emily Jean Phillips, lost her life in a tragic car accident on the Niagara Street QEW on-ramp in St. Catharines. Sorry for the delay in this post (for any of you who did not know) but as I’m sure you can imagine, things have been very rough. I would very much like to thank everyone who was there for me during the funeral and visitation, it is much appreciated.

Emily: extremely smart, innocent, generous, athletic & beautiful, I’m sure that she would have gone on to be a future Olympian and/or veterinarian. She was actively involved in swimming, snowboarding, ice skating, soccer, gymnastics, ceramics, dancing, bicycling, singing…the list goes on and on!

Saturday nights before Red Square just aren’t the same for me anymore, without her there to paint my toenails blue with, or her comments about my crazy contact lenses and how I am “weird”…LOL.  I think she secretly loved my fishnets and the outfits that I wear though.

Sometimes when I pass a mirror I will catch a glimpse of her in myself. We were a lot alike in the fact that we could eat all day long (hollow legs, lol).

Even though Emily was always scared of the skulls that amass my bedroom when she was little, I think that she had gotten used to the freak that I am…she was also the only one who gave me a Valentine this year when I was feeling unloved, she’ll never know just how much that was appreciated (even though I had told her of course!), and she also wrote me up beautiful little cards to get well when I had cramps 

We laughed and laughed time & time again over Crazy Frog’s video for AXEL F…if anyone has a link to that, please give it to me!!! I think it was always on Y-TV or Teletoon…?

There is a website dedicated to her memory…if anyone is interested, just ask me & I’ll give you the link.
