"The car's on fire, and there's no driver at the wheel. And the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides, and a dark wind blows."

I've returned to school.

I've been listening to Godspeed You! Black Emperor's sophomore attempt pretty often lately. The album, originally only produced in 500 copies, is a sweeping, orchestral tale of an apocalyptic future.

F#A#∞, so named for the locked groove on the original vinyl album that endlessly repeated the shown notes at the end of the album, is pretty ridiculously awesome. I highly recommend it. The songs are deep and emotional, although they lack any words besides the sound sample interwoven in the music. It's only three tracks, but with each track clocking in at around 20 minutes, it is as long as a full-length album.

So as GY!BE's sophomore attempt succeeded, I have hopes that mine will as well.
