FISA filibuster in the Senate

Jun 25, 2008 11:29

The Senate is set to vote on the FISA Amendments Act, probably today. A few Senators are filibustering it, though: Dodd, Feingold, and Wyden. Please call your Senators and ask them to join the filibuster. This bill is a direct assault on our liberties; it essentially throws out the Fourth Amendment.

Edit: Also call Senator Obama, who promised last October to "support a filibuster of any bill that includes retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies". I just called (had to leave voicemail) and said that I had contributed to his Presidential campaign in the past, but would not contribute in the general election if he did not keep his promise.

Edit 2: The reason to call Obama is that, last week, he said he'd support this bill.
