I went to Chinatown to get dim sum with Natalee, totally forgetting that most places have dim sum hours (and that those hours aren't 5:45 to 7:00). We ended up at Empress Pavilion, a recommendation from the Los Angeles LJ community, and got a shitload of food-spring rolls, shredded duck soup, crispy panfried noodles with shrimp, and sweet & sour pork. It was all really good, but there was so much of it; I took most of the panfried noodles and s&s pork home with me.
Afterwards, we wandered around Chinatown for a bit, ending up at this sort of kawaii desu store in the same pavilion/plaza thing as Empress. I got some pig stickers, mango Hi-Chew, and a Hitsugaya keychain. After getting boba (which I forgot how much I dislike-the texture of the tapioca balls is just gross to me), we went to this Chinese bakery which was about to close for the night, and for $5 I got 12 egg custard tarts and this other bun-type thing (which I've yet to identify-I bought it on a whim).
And now I'm back, feeling extremely full.
As for the birthday midterm, it went okay. I wrote like 7 pages of essay question, but it was... idk. We'll see. I don't feel horrible about it, but it wasn't cake either.
I still have like 293847 projects to do, which I should probably be doing instead of writing this entry. I have a paper due in Art of the Cinema tomorrow at 3:10, and probably some more things... idek. I've got midterms up the ass the next couple of weeks-just today, actually, Kinjo sensei switched our midterm from Monday 3/1 to Friday 2/26, which sucks a big fat one because it means I have a weekend less to study.
Withdrew my participation in Shousetsu Bang*Bang this morning. I just don't have the time or energy to finish the story that I was working on. Definitely next month, but this time I just don't think it's going to work-especially since the story in question is like, maybe a third done.
Sigh.
That's all, folks. My life is so uninteresting.
