So today I finally buckled down on finishing the jewelry box I was making for myself.
-I just got super distracted by a girl posting a bunch of pictures of us in middle school up on Facebook. Maybe I'll repost some of them here :P Would you guys like to see me when I was a baby?
Anyway, the jewelry box. I went to Michaels a while back, just after Christmas, to get the supplies and stuff, but didn't actually do anything with it until a couple of days ago, when I painted the base coat of black onto the wood. So today I:
→ Put fixative on the picture for the top
→ Glued the picture to the top
→ Mod-Podge'd the shit out of that sucker
→ Painted the wood with varnish
→ Cut the slats for the inside part of the box
→ Glued all of the separators in
→ Painted the insides of the box
And now I'm waiting for it to dry.
War wounds sustained: 2 (bruises/scrapes on my left thumb and right forefinger)
Amount of sealant/fixative/paint/varnish on my hands: OVER 9000
The entire box, plus newspaper, yay?
Spray paint cans. I hate opening those fuckers.
The inside of the box. Some of the separators are crooked, but tbh I'm not too concerned about it.
And the top. Yes, that is the same image that's in my LJ layout header. :P
