lmao thought this was hilarious

First and foremost I am a geek. I believe that Han shot first. I believe that Ally Sheedy was hotter before Molly Ringwald cleaned her up. I believe in miniatures, models, claymation, and not revealing the shark until you absolutely have to. I believe that George Lucas, for better or for worse, change the way we see the world, each other, and ourselves. And I believe that we will someday reach those stars that he himself made visible. I believe that George Lucas is also a narrow-minded, money-grubbing pig-headed slave to the now, who ought to be locked away from his own creations, lest he do them further harm. I believe that Jean-Luc Picard is the better Starship Captain, but I also believe that James Tiberius Kirk is infinitely cooler. I believe that a child standing in line to buy a book at midnight is fantastic; I believe that reading makes you smart - it’s schools that make you dumb. I believe that any episode of Futurama is better than any program featuring a precocious teenager who’s wise beyond their years. I also believe Buffy the Vampire Slayer to be the sole exception that proves this rule. I believe that comic books are an art form, and will someday be recognized as such. I believe that good shows die too young; and crap shows last too long. I believe that Eddie Izzard is the funniest man alive, an I don’t care whether you’ve ever heard of him or not - it’s still true. I believe that a girl who likes movies about zombies is hotter than whoever is on the cover of Maxim this month. I believe that Belloch ate that fly, I swear to God that I heard Luke call Leia “Carrie,” and I believe that Samwise Gamgee never quite got the credit he really deserved. I believe in magic, I believe in dreams, I believe in the power of music, movies, and the untold worlds inside an everyday library card. And I do not believe that geeks will inherit the earth; I believe that we already have.

I believe that Firefly should've gotten a longer run, and that Angel was not as cool as Buffy. I believe that David Tennant and Tom Baker will always be the Doctor (both of them, at the same time if need be) and that the Master will always be there to counter the Doctor. I believe that some series can be revived and it can be done well. I believe in my imagination and the imaginations of others, and most of all I believe that it's Sci-fi, not syfy.

I will loudly proclaim that I am walking to Mordor in search of Frodo and the ring when I go to New Zealand. I will also read all of Lord of the Rings and not care how long it takes me.

I believe that the truth is out there and that the Doctor is the best man to have ever been created to save the human race. I will read the Harry Potter books until I'm old and grey, and still believe that the epilogue never existed, then once I've finished those I'll read The Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings to fill my time. And even after the countless years of rereading those books, I'll still mourn the deaths of the characters I loved, because their creation meant something to me and I can never thank them enough for that.

I believe that going to New York City and taking pictures of places that are mentioned in fantasy books isn't geeky, it's awesome, and should be done as often as possible. This also goes for other cities.

I believe that Neil Gaiman is one of the most important men on earth, and that the world is an infinitely better place because he's in it. I'll keep re-reading Ender's Shadow until I can recite the entire first chapter by heart, and I'll always only read exactly half of Xenocide. If I ever meet one of the FOX execs who got Firefly cancelled, I will personally kick them in the nuts, and even so I'm going to foster a slight, lingering hate for FOX for the rest of my life, or at least until they bring back Firefly and Dollhouse and Wonderfalls. I'll always do a double take when I see an old fashioned telephone booth, thinking it's a police box, and I believe that until the piles of books in my room are bigger than the piles of clothes, then I'm still not done yet.

I believe that it is perfectly normal to write a letter to Dumbledore when you are 10, and ask to be accepted into Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I believe that Sci-Fi on BBC2 after 6pm, with all the Buffy Episodes, Roswell, Farscape, all the Enterprises series', and Dark Angel should be mandatory watching for every child, and all the rounded people I know watched it. I think that if you don't know what a Vulcan Salute is, there is something fundamentally wrong, but I'll be happy to educate you. Captain Jean-luc Picard will always be my Captain, and no it is not strange to want to have NCC-1701 tattooed somewhere on your person. I have always believed that the American Military is hiding a Stargate in one of their facilities, and in producing the programs they have created the perfect cover-up story.

If I ever see a Police Box, I fully expect to go in there and discover that it is bigger on the inside.
