Title: Pants Pairing: Christoffer Svae/Chris Plys Rating: PG Disclaimer: Not real, all fiction, some actual events used for inspiration. I know nothing about these athletes. Notes: 150 words, response to a meme at my personal LJ.

Did you see that they're retiring the pants? At least they've been immortalized in fic. (Heh, no worries about the cut text, if I got too offended about stuff like that I'd have had to defriend callmecayce about ten times by now. :) )
I didn't see that, but I saw that the pants are technically in violation of Curling Federation (or something) rules. Which may have something to do with their retirement.
(Oh, good. I was pretty bad during the Olympics, too, but mostly it's your short track team I hold the grudge against.)

Oh really? I didn't think there was any rule against them, although I heard rumblings that they might change the rules to prevent future similar sartorial excitement.
(I think I nearly bit a hole through my tongue on Twitter a couple evenings. :) But, hey, sports - people get partisan. Can't say I was extolling the virtues of your fine nation during either of the hockey games! BTW, did you know one of the American short trackers is a dual citizen who grew up in Canada? ;) )
If there is a curling hall of fame (somewhere in Canada), the pants need to go in there. I think they really brought more attention to the sport here than anything else, except maybe the hotass-ness of Chris Plys.
(Travis? I did know that. That relay team is a melting pot, man - four of the five are either first-generation American-born or dual citizens. Which is not relevant, but interesting nonetheless. And I was cheering for Canada in most things besides short track and hockey. Your little ice dancers are adorable.)
