Happy July 4th
Well, for my American friends anyways.
I just finished working on the letter I'm sending along with Ryan to the Grand Chapter convention in Chicago. Yes, unfortunately I won't be attending, since I'll be working during that weekend. Such is my life.
At least I was able to get the end of July off to go to Montreal. Yaaaay.
I had the most horrible time at Pride this year. Everything that could have gone wrong did. I'm very surprised noone died on site this year, that was the only saving grace. Even one of the co-chairs commented in the press that it was the most problematic festival in years. The main problem occurred after the parade on Sunday, when hordes of people started going into the Wine Rack at Church/Wellesley and buying magnums of wine or 6 packs of coolers, and then going to the Pharma Plus to get plastic cups that they could drink these purchases out of. Essentially, we couldn't keep up with the illegal alcohol that was on site and almost lost our event permit. Without a doubt, I have decided not to return to Pride as an organizer next year. Having my name printed in the Pride guide was a nice touch, but it was by far not worth it.
Canada Day = Running around the Danforth half-drunk, getting fully drunk while watching the game at Myth, and running out into the street party fully drunk when Greece wins in overtime. 'Twas fun.
And now I'm going to get more drunk on Raspberry Vodka and Coke.
