I feel like I ought to write a more substantial update, since it's been a while, so here it goes.
I'm still sick, and I managed to hurt my bad knee again during my aerobics class on Monday, which sort of sucked. I also had my first Endocrinology exam of the semester this morning. I feel pretty good about the exam. I'll have to wait and see just how much my prof decides to nickel and dime me over minor things, but I think I did ok. Worst case scenario, even if he nickeled and dimed me on everything, I should still get a B out of the exam, so I should be fine. If I get a B, I'm ok with that, since I ought to be able to bring up the grade before the end of the semester, so I'm not too worried. I'm hoping for an A, of course, but I'm thinking my performance was somewhere between a B and an A, so we'll see.
Last weekend was Valentine's Day. We'd had plans to go to the Melting Pot, but weren't able to get the reservations we wanted, so we had an early Valentine's Day dinner at the Melting Pot the Wednesday before the hallmark holiday. It was probably for the best, given that we brought Maddisyn with us. I'm sure romantic couples would have been annoyed on Valentine's Day if we had brought her while they were all trying to be all lovey-dovey; she can be pretty loud and disruptive sometimes since she gets so excited at the Melting Pot.
For Valentine's Day, Josh got me a new digital camera. It's fantastic! I love it! My husband is so fantastic and amazing. I love him so much! The camera is meant to work best for outdoor and scenic shots, which I really wanted (I had wanted something for when we go on vacations, and when we go on vacations, we tend to choose places for the sights and scenery). I totally hadn't expected anything, since we'd talked about my finishing my design for my new tattoo and getting that in the near future (I've been talking about it for months), which will be pricey. So, the camera was a very pleasant, unexpected surprise.
The weekend before was Legacies, which went well. I just helped in Plot for the weekend, since Josh didn't make it. The site was gorgeous and I really enjoyed getting to visit with people out there. I knew I had missed people a lot, but I hadn't realized just how much until I hung out with them and realized just how much I really missed everyone. I even got to bring back some belated x-mas gifts for Josh and me, which was so sweet and wonderful.
I can hardly wait until Spring Break. I really need a nice long break. I feel so emotionally and mentally checked out of everything right now. Really, I just want the term to be over so that I can move on with everything, but alas, I need to be patient. I'm flying into Portland for Spring Break (it was way cheaper than flying into Seattle), but I'm hoping to visit with people in both Washington and Oregon. I'll be somewhat limited in that I don't want to break my bank filling the gas tank, but I'm certainly going to try to make my rounds, even if it's just for dinner and drinks with a few people on different nights.
Next week, the Kappa Alpha Theta Memphis Alumnae Chapter is having a Mardi Gras party, and I'm super excited about it. I really like the alumnae in the chapter, even if our ages range from newly graduated to their 80's. It's been fun getting to know them. The Founder's Day Brunch last month was awesome, so I'm really looking forward to some womanly bonding while mowing down on King Cake.
Anyway, I think that's all for now. I hope everyone is doing well. I miss you all big bunches.
Much love!
