Moved In (Bartlett, TN)

So, we've officially moved into our new house.  Last Friday, Michael and I picked up the keys from the property management company, and later Josh moved over a bunch of stuff (and I helped move stuff over later in the evening).  Saturday, we did most of the big moving (all of the furniture and appliances, and most of everything else).  We still have a few things over at the old house, but we're mostly moved in to our new place.  We'll take our time gathering up the last of the miscellaneous stuff and cleaning up the place before turning it over.

So far, the new house has been awesome.  We're now unpacking and starting to decorate and make it feel more homey.  Unfortunately, the night we moved here I managed to knock over a set of heavy wooden shelves onto my left foot (which was bare, without socks aor shoes).  It was pretty horrific and hurt like a bitch.  It resulted in a trip to the ER to confirm that nothing was broken (and fortunately, nothing is broken); it just looks ugly and hurts pretty bad.  I have to see an orthopedic specialist in a few days to confirm that my foot is ok (aside from not being broken).  Such is life.

Despite the rough first night in our new home, I'm loving it here.  Sore foot aside, it was wonderful to wake up Sunday morning to the sound of songbird's serenading outside, rather than cars with bumping bass', or kids yelling and screaming.  It's also wonderful to have a house with a ton of room and a huge yard (Maddisyn seems quite enamored with the yard).  Only having one bathroom has yet to make anyone attack someone in the house, so that's a plus too.  *smile*

Anyway, I'm pretty happy and excited about this move.  I can hardly wait until I have time to try to mess with the yard, and plant things, and to redecorate the interior (I want to get permission to repaint a few areas).  I think everyone else in the house is pretty happy too.  Maddisyn seems to love her new room (which is very large, and actually has enough space for her tons of stuff; she really is spoiled, heh), and Michael seems pleased with his new room as well.  Josh and I are thrilled with our room (it is enormous; it fits our bed and his desk, and there's more than enough space to get me a desk too, and add some other furniture, like a dresser and/or armoire).  The house is laid out so nice, and so spacious.  I really am simply in love with the place.  It really seems perfect for us.

Well, I'm pretty tired, and I have an early day tomorrow.  I hope everything is well with the rest of you.  Let me know if you need our new address.  Miss you much!

Lots of love!
