In the past few weeks, I've attended a wedding, gone on a tour of the upper east coast (including seeing all kinds of friends along the way), and gone to SF to apartment hunt for Dinesh. I don't even want to talk about all the emotions I've felt.
Dinesh received a job offer in SF about an hour before we were scheduled to board a plane to Boston. During our two week vacation, we went from Boston
to Syracuse... for Clifford and Marissa's wedding, which was filled with all kinds of festivities
back to Boston... to hang out with some of Dinesh's friends, and of course, Danielle
to Cape Cod... for a huge July 3rd bash on the beach. I've never seen bonfires so big in my life.
to NYC... to see Magat, Majal, Karen, Danielle, Mandy, Patty... and have dinner with more of Dinesh's college friends (at Stanton Social -- yummmmmmmmmmmm) and see the July 4th fireworks from the roof of his HS best friend's apartment building
and back to Boston (again)... for a couple more days of friends and, sightseeing.
Somewhere in the middle of that, Dinesh verbally accepted the job offer. We were so busy having a good time that I didn't have time to process the fact that he is going to be leaving Tucson. And more importantly, that the ability to see my baby whenever I want (even at work) will soon be gone.
We got back to Tucson on a Sunday... and he turned in his 2 week notice & resignation letter the following day.
We flew out to SF together the following Friday and started a long weekend of apartment hunting.
Now it's Wednesday. One day after getting back from the apartment hunting weekend.
I'm exhausted.
But... we found a great place. In SoMa. Across from Pac Bell Park, a 15 minute walk from his workplace (as well as from the SF IBM site), with a Safeway and two coffee shops in the same complex.
...I'm still exhausted... along with super excited and super sad.
