[There's a clatter as the communicator activates, a brief darkness as a finger crosses the camera.]
Would you all shut the hell up? Some of us are trying to get dressed in peace.
[There's a view of what could be Reno's father, if it wasn't for the now faded tattoos under his eyes. Why yes, Reno is about forty now. Still a Turk though, but his

This requires some recon, which requires leaving the room of the teenaged boy who may or may not be Veld Dragoon. This means when Reno prowls around deck five, Vincent comes painfully close to bumping into him as he rounds a corner.]
Oh--Oh, sorry, I--
[And then Vincent realizes what he's looking at. The color is wrong, but there's no mistaking the cut, the demeanor, and the pin in Reno's lapel. Vincent has no idea who this man is, but he knows a Turk when he sees one, and he straightens appropriately to address him.]
I'm sorry, sir! I wasn't paying attention.
Reply
Valentine?
[Oh, this is fantastic... actually wait. This is fantastic, Vincent's dressed as a turk and not wearing his freaky poncho thing and his arms are the same size. Good.]
It's fine, there's more important things to pay attention to. How much are you aware of?
Reply
[Clear and concise, straight to the point. He was a good Turk, you know.]
From messages over the communicator I'm assuming we're in the middle of some kind of strange event that seems to be affecting people in varying ways. I've heard people talking about their age or height being "wrong."
[Beat. Yes, he did the pause thing even in his pre-coffin days.]
Vice Director Veld Dragoon has been...affected. Sir.
Reply
[He gives a glance around, never too sure what's going to happen next.]
You've been affected too Valentine, but don't worry about it.
[Full disclosure is a good thing.]

Until his brain snags on the last part.]
...Don't worry about it?
[Vincent's eyebrows draw downward, eyes narrowing slightly.]
What do you mean I've been affected?
Reply
[He'll talk as he prowls Vincent, and you're welcome to tag along.]
It's only a few years, you're simply not quite as fast or strong as you were.
[Alright so it's a bit of a lie but not really... right?]
I'm a few years older than I was, it's not exactly normal for here but it's better than what has happened in the past.
Reply
...I still have no idea who you are, sir.
[And, sue him, he's curious.]
How many is a few?
Reply
[For whatever it was worth anyway.]
For me... maybe five years. You... I would hazard an estimate at about two years if not three based on how old you look.
Reply
This is weird.]
Well, you recognized me, so I guess there's not that much of a difference...
[He squints a little in thought.]
Although you certainly sounded surprised.
Reply
[there's a bit of a laugh.]
Should have known better.
Reply
...Oh.
[He continues to follow Reno, curious and confused, but not panicked in the least. Reno said they had a job to do, might as well get it done.]
Orders, sir? Now that I've been briefed on the situation I assume you want me working to do something for it.

[a pause as he peers around a corner. Yes he's always been this paranoid it just shows more when there's reason for it.]
Also, telling children and others that the rooms are safe if they seem to be in distress. The rest is what I told you already; the ship is the Elegante, the captain is Redd, there are various species and races aboard the ship and some may be dangerous.
There was mention of defenses being down and that's what we're looking in to. I don't want to have people harmed by anything other than their own damn stupidity.

[Because once Vincent figured out how to use his comm, which did take a while, he was VINCENT and went around listening to all the other channels he could. Like a creeper. Or, really, a Turk. He thought old!Kate sounded a little senile, actually.]

[Who you calling senile?!]
