What happened, anyway?

Well, to keep it simple, when X "died", the one little part of him that really mattered didn't get destroyed and he ended up getting rebuilt by a high ranking Machine Empire officer.

He lured me out to the graveyard where X died and... after stuff happened, he rebuilt X and got us to a point where we could help Domon and the others.

But aren't they trying to oppose us? Why would someone like that help you instead?

To an extent, we can trust the Four Knights. Karen, my previously handler, deserted the group six years ago upon discovering information about Raphaello, and the others have been at least a little more suspicious of the group's motives than everyone else in it.

Hokuto rebuilt me because he felt that in doing so he could be in a better position to get to the truth. Past camaraderie helped, no doubt, but I'm not sure he would have seen to my revival if he didn't doubt the Machine Empire's motives.

Yeah, that's pretty much all there is to it. Those four we can at least trust to not try to kill us at every turn.

Everyone else is just an obstacle to getting my brother back.

Yeah. A little more than a year ago he got captured by the Machine Empire. I've been working with the GDF to try to get in a position to get him back.
