Had a pretty good Christmas. Had 4 days off work, and it’s been busy!

I got several last minute jewelry requests so I worked a bunch this weekend finishing everything up to get stuff to people before Christmas. One request was a commission request, and here’s what I came up with. It’s a seahorse pendant with a tooth I “bloodied” and glittered.

My birthday was good. Took the day off and spent it with Chrissy and Mark. Chrissy and I watched a creepy movie with David Tennant called “Secret Smile”, went to Paper Moon, and in the evening Chrissy, Mark, and me went to Hampden to see the 34th St lights and then went out for sushi.

The night before my birthday Mark and I got free tickets from Linda to see “Les Miserables”. I loved it! I thought Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman were amazing and I cried my eyeballs out.

Saturday Rudy was back in town so I grabbed dinner with him and his new girlfriend at Sticky Rice. She seemed cool, and it’ll be nice when he moves back to town in the spring.

Sunday I got to meet my half sister Mary in person. Here’s a pic of us. :D

It went great! We have a lot in common and had lots to talk about. She wants me to teach her to make the kind of jewelry I make, which made me very happy. :D We went to H-mart as she’s never been there, and she loved it. Within minutes her hands were full of Hello Kitty and food goodies to buy. Afterward we went to Hampden, went to lunch at Suzi Soba and wandered around the shops. We talked some about our father, and it honestly doesn’t sound like I missed out on a whole lot not having him around. Hopefully we’ll get to hang out again soon.

Christmas Eve was pretty chill, I dropped off the last of the jewelry requests, and in the evening Mark and I went over to Esti’s where he played video games with Andy, and I had fun chatting with Esti and Rae. The not so fun part was going home and realizing the oven had been accidentally left on the whole time we were gone. The whole apartment reeked of gas. It all, obviously worked out though and everyone’s ok.

Because of that we were up SUPER late Christmas Eve to make sure the gas got filtered out and we all didn’t die :P so Mark gave me my Christmas present which given the set up freaked me out at first, even though I really liked the present! Recently Mark and I were in Ellicott City and saw this awesome last rites kit from 1897 in my favorite antique store, Antique Depot, but didn’t get it because it was more money than we wanted to spend.

But I still talked about it, hell I was telling Mary about it on Sunday. I was very surprised that Mark got it for me, and at first was like holy crap what have you brought into our apartment?? This thing is so creepy and powerful! Now I just think it’s pretty awesome. :)

Christmas we went over to my mom’s to have a relaxing day. She made us vegetarian chili and we exchanged presents. She was very happy with the DVD player I got her, as her old one had gone up and she hadn’t been able to watch movies in a while. So that made me happy to see her so happy. :)

In the evening Mark and I went to Towson’s Best to meet up with Linda, Timm, and co for our yearly tradition of Chinese food on Christmas Day.

And today it’s back at work! It’s snowing out and I want to just go back home and curl up with the kitties.
