Note: This was obviously written before 09/11/01 but it is very applicable to discussion involving Bush Administration complicity in this event--or, for that matter, to discussion of this regime in general.

The Goring quote and its obvious relationship to Herr Karl Rove is just too precious:

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

You need to learn to love your scrollbar.

Text doesn't take aeons to load; I use lj-cut only for graphics.

But thanks for reminding me: I like to keep a warning about this in the sidebar of my journal, and when I changed to this layout I lost it. I should go fix that.

I have this peeve about lj-cut. Yeah, I know it was long...and I usually dun' post something that long unless it's something I myself wrote. But some folks do like to read their watchlist without having to open a new page for every entry they read.

There's never a particular post of yours appropriate for saying this, so:

I'm glad you exist, and that you record some of your existence where I can read it. Or even if you don't exist, I'm glad that you make a pretense now and then.

Creepy but true.

I exist all right, and pretty much just as I show here, in (so-called) reality.

The photos are of me and they're all from this century.
