[It's early morning (still fairly dim outside) and Susumu finds himself... in a forest. Randomly. No explanations, no comrades, no clothes- at least not ones belonging to him. Probably not the most disturbing thing ever to happen to him, but considering it was practically inconceivable for someone to ambush and take him right out of the middle of the Shinsengumi base, especially with what had been going on at the time... yeah, pretty high up there in his "disturbing" scale. The capture - and then abandonment - of a single ninja is hardly effective war strategy. Yet here he is. So what in the world is going on?
As for the wings...

Yeah he's not going to go there just yet. He's dealt with some occult stuff before, and he's done a few interesting surgeries, but he's never been involved in attaching limbs that weren't there to begin with. This is out of his league. Thus, Susumu is going back to his roots; hiding in the tree branches and spying on everyone.
In short: if you're passing by, he is watching you. If you're on patrol, he is watching you. If you're hanging out your underwear, he is watching you (but he is bored). If you are armed, he is watching you like a hawk.
And if he perceives you to be less of a threat, he might just drop down on you close by and try to wrangle some answers out of you, particularly the location of one Okita Souji, since he'd been looking after the man only hours before. And some people might be able to notice him in the trees - he's a little out of practice, though not obviously so.
As for Okita: Either he finds out from someone or he scouts the place out himself, but sooner or later he'll be showing up at one of the windows of the clinic. :|b Hope you're up for an early wake-up call.]
