[So Susumu either has the best or the worst luck ever. He'd been outside doing some meditation/mental training/ninja quiet time in the cold beside House 50, when completely out of nowhere a massive fluffball of yellow comes flying out of the woods to pounce him from behind. From the sound of the voice, he had simply assumed it was a child and had ( Read more... )

okita cursed him, not a people person either, he was asking for it, not an animal person, halp, oh god not again

[ You don't say. Well, your Vice Commander will observe this phenomenon for now and wonder if he'd be able to move it :|a ]

Yamazaki-kun.

What is this?

[Mmph. What, is Hijikata expecting a report with this monstrosity sitting on his back? Susumu resists the urge to glower - this is his superior, after all - and glances back to turn his ire on the bird instead. ...Turning hurts, she's still chewing on his hair.

Is it the same chocobo? It looks the same. More or less.

Dammit, Okita. This is your fault.]

...Okita-san called it "Jou-san".

[ Report on the chocobo, damn you.

On second thought, don't; you only needed to say Souji was involved. ]

Hn. [ Approaching the giant bird. Clearly the wisest course of action. ]

[Susumu shifts his arms to try and get them under himself and push, but he doesn't get far. Chocobos are damn heavy. Meanwhile, Tammy lifts her head and warks unhappily, watching Hijikata and hovering protectively over her new nest. She would protect Papa no matter what!

...It would be nice if she could realize he wasn't Papa sometime soon.]

[ This is amusing. A huge inconvenience, but amusing. Not stopping because he's one of those guys who figures he has a sword and no emotional attachment to the bird in question. ]

Can it be reasoned with? [ 8| ]

...I have no affection for it. [Whatever it takes to save your awesome ninja, PLZ.]

[ Awesome, then it's obviously cool to break out the bladed weapon. He doesn't attack right off the bat, because random chocobo slaughter, really. Today and this having nothing to do with Souji knowing it, he'll try some form of...threatening diplomacy with this Jou-san. If he can. ]

Moving would be in your best interests.

[Tammy looks at him for a moment, then gawks at the sword... and then gets up and skitters away, doing the chocobo's version of a whimper.

And meanwhile, Susumu sits up, dusting off his clothes in an attempt to look halfway dignified.]

...My thanks, Hijikata-san.

[ He sheaths the sword and watches it skitter off into the sunset like a boss. ]

Hn. It was a nuisance.

Fortunately Okita-san didn't see it, or we would likely have kept it.

We would have done no such thing. [ Unless he, you know. Wheedled. ]

[....No comment. He knows you, Hijikata, and you're lucky he respects you because NO ONE would believe your word on that one. Okita always gets his way.]

... Be watchful for a return. [ Because your brackets make a stunning argument, and it's best that Souji doesn't see it. ]

[Oh, he knows.]

Perhaps a distraction would be more effective. [Like your poetry 8D]
