portland is not so new anymore...
This morning I got up at 7:30am to meet with one of the volunteers from In Other Words to discuss doing research for the "women of the past in the present" lecture series. I was UP that means AWAKE at 7:30am! All for volunteer work! Who would have thunk it? Me, who barely managed to teach my classes at 10am! My point is not really about being up so early in fact what surprised me is that I walked through the PSU area because we were meeting at a coffee shop and on campus and I realized that I was walking through one of the first places I ever walked when Sam and I visited Portland in February. I recognized it almost immediately, but it didn't look so unique anymore. I'm sure nothing has changed about the area. I know it's just me but I thought Portland's becoming more normal to me now.
By the way, this lecture series is really fabulous. I am just finding accessible resources for the people that attend them. Anyway I have to go my computer time is up!
