CA = awesome

ok, so I've decided that CA is the place I was destined to live. I think I was born to live here. I LOVE it here! Everything is just beautiful here. I have discovered that squirrels are rapid here, and WILL chase after you. Shaye can attest to this one, as I was on the phone with her when this happened.

Anyways, the plane ride wasn't that bad. It had been awhile since I'd flown, since before 9/11. I had some memorable parts, beside the gorgeous, spectacular views from my window seat.

"For our Coach passengers this evening, you have a choice of: Sun Chips, Animal Crackers, Chocolate Chip granola bar, and cheese on wheat crackers". Wow. Yum, lemme tell ya.

And on the way to the bathroom, 'Do NOT hit my seat again!' and then the dude's wife, 'he has a back injury!'...The guy who was apparently hitting the other guy's seat was standing up, and I just knew there was going to be a fight. All I wanted to do was go to the bathroom.

The weather here is SO much cooler. The skies are gorgeous. There aren't any clouds..just blue skies, unless you're near the bay, and then it gets foggy, and it mirrors an overcast sky. Yesterday, the relatives and I drove through mountains and hills and valleys, all the way to San Simeon. The scenery was breathtaking. We stopped at San Juan Bautista, which is an old mission where Vertigo was filmed, however inaccurate it may have been. Seriously, the bell tower was NOT that tall! San Simeon is gorgeous, too. We went to this cute little seaside town called Cambria, and it was so quaint.

Today, we went to Hearst Castle. It is disgustingly gorgeous, if that's possible. It's the most spectacular "house" I've ever laid eyes on. Then we drove on Highway 1, which terrified me. Parts of it are long, winding roads that go between the ocean and huge, rocky cliffs. At many places, there are no guard rails, so there's nothing separating you between the road and a couple hundred feet fall to your death. :-) We stopped in Monteray and Carmel and admired the views and the houses. We ate a great Mexican restaurant, and my Aunt and I bonded over a margarita. :-) It was YUMMY, and I got a little intoxicated...lol, I have to get drunk in every state.. ;-)

Tomorrow, we're going wine tasting and to Bodega Bay, where Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds was filmed. HOpefully, it won't be a re-enactment. lol..I'll make sure to update more later. Take care everyone!
