In just about a week, I'll be heading to Atlanta for
TimeGate. It looks as though it's going to be a great con - I don't have my detailed schedule yet, but I do know I'll be doing a discussion panel with Diana Dru Botsford Sunday afternoon at 1 on writing Stargate. It'll be fun to talk about the technical issues of tie-ins, from various ways to translate the visual aspects of a show (something I've talked about here before) to the complexities of dealing with studio requirements. I'm really looking forward to that one!
There are a bunch more interesting panels (one on the recent Sherlock Holmes adaptations! Stargate Egyptology! the Enigma machine in fiction! Blake's 7!) and, of course, actor guests like Sophie Aldred. I am rewatching some of her Dr. Who episodes and remembering how much I enjoyed them the first time around.
So if you're looking for something to do over Memorial Day weekend, here's another option! If any of you all are there, I'd love to meet you.
