This weekend went by so fast, in spite of the fact that like a million things happened haha.
Friday was the Halloween party at work. Disappointingly, none of the photographers there have posted any of their pics yet. So I don't have one of me and Breckin together, but I can post that later I guess. You'll just have to settle for my crappy phone photos. :p
I made myself a Red Riding Hood costume and I made ears and a tail for Breckin to be the Big Bad Wolf. I had all this awesome costuming stuff going through my head and then about two weeks before Halloween I got apathetic and it wasn't until about noon on the day before the party I decided I wanted to make something after all. Not bad for something thrown together at the last minute imo. (Also, the hood is SO COMFY omfg I want to wear it just on every day occasions haha).
This was that morning, before I went to work
Here's Breckinwolf at work
I tried them on too the night before lol. This was around 4 in the morning
So, the Halloween party was great. Lots of amazing/hilarious costumes this year. The ones I voted for didn't win, but c'est la vie. XP My favorites included drunk hobo in a cardboard lean-to in the lunch room, cat burgler complete with black outfit, accessories, cat ears, and awesome accent, and oil engineer (significant and funny because they are the end user of our software). A good time and good food were had by all. At 5 or so, all the mothers brought their children trick-or-treating around the office in their costumes, and oh. my. lord. were they CUUUUTE. My favorite one was this little girl that ran up to my jack-o-lantern, stopped, and squealed "SCARY PUMPKIN!!" I about died.
Friday night
rapierdf and I went to Midnight Yell, which is an Aggie thing the night before home games where we all get together at Kyle Field and the yell leaders do a bunch of yells and tell some funny stories, etc. We had a fun time..there were even people dressed up there. There were also a bunch of people in costume.
Saturday morning was GAME DAY in Aggieland! My alma mater Texas A&M vs. Iowa State. I was excited because it's the first game I've gone to all year.
rapierdf and I sat on the second deck and we were all decked out in maroon and had our 12th man towels and it was just a ton of fun. (I'm sure all this means nothing to anyone not from around here haha). Anyway, my beloved Ags DOMINATED ISU. Whoop!
When I got back, Breckin's dad and stepmom had already arrived (they were coming to visit us and stay the night), and they had just finished grilling up some delicious steak and sausage and baked potatoes for dinner. I married into culinary divinity haha, because his dad is a great cook and always makes the most delicious things. I started getting trick-or-treaters around 6, much to my delight, and so I was running back and forth between eating and beaming at all the little kids as I handed out candy. Now that i live in a real house, this is the first year I get to have real trick-or-treaters!
After dinner we broke out the Crown and Breckin's and my new Waterford crystal (niiice wedding present) and the four of us had drinks and sat around talking. We had so much fun!! It's so great when you can sit with people and have a conversation comfortably for hours without noticing the time go by. Those are the best times. I'm also very happy not only that I have family visiting me, but that I really really like my in-laws. It gives me the warm and fuzzies and I think I'm lucky to have in-laws I like. I digress though! After a couple of hours of booze and merriment, my husband was feeling quite good. Case in point:
Hahaha, I hope he doesn't kill me for posting that. Anyway! Around 10 or 11, I excused myself because, hey, it's Halloween night! I may not be a college student any more but that doesn't mean I can't go share in their turning every holiday into an excuse for a party.
Soooo
rapierdf (dressed as a lumberjack, which was kinda funny because it sorta went with my RRH costume) and went over to some friends' house to find them dressed as a tasteless but admittedly hilarious Serena and Venus Williams (we're talking about two very un-feminine white guys here). Some more people showed up, and finally we all decided to go to Northgate.
WOW, were there some crazy costumes. I must have seen everything. Serena and Venus were hits; everyone loved them. We basically bar-hopped all night, were pleasantly surprised when we realized the time change happened and so we got an extra hour, barhopped some more, then I went home (don't worry, mom,
rapierdf was DD) and promptly fell asleep. I didn't take any pictures because I'm retarded and my phone can't take pictures in the dark. I wish I had though because there were so many fun costumes and things to see.
Yesterday (Sunday) went like this: got up, ate a DELICIOUS breakfast made by Breckin's dad and stepmom, was completely stuffed, watched the Cowboys v. Seahawks game (GO COWBOYS WOOOO we won by the way...
chazthechemist's mom who is from the Seattle area called me and let me know just how she felt about the Cowboys LOL <3), suddenly had the urge to sculpt so went to Michael's to buy sculpey, got COMPLETELY spaced out and ended up buying a ton of clearance Halloween and Thanksgiving decor, went to Target and got spaced out there too, went back home and watched Vikings v. Green Bay, cleaned the entire house top to bottom, and then went to sleep. Talk about productive!
By the way, at Target I found a new shirt with GRYPHONS on it yeeeaaaaaaay even it if it was a men's shirt. I can't have too many gryphon shirts and they're rare. Also, a new military hat!
camwhore
THE END! Hope everyone had a great weekend. <3
