Anyone on my f-list, are you doing NaNoWriMo? If so feel free to chit-chat about it or send me your screenname on there; mine is
merystic (as usual). Feel free to add me as a buddy, too, if you feel so inclined. I'd love to hear what you're working on and how it's going.

Well, NaNoWriMo officially began yesterday and I jumped in feet first. So far, I'm on target! It's the second day, so that's not saying much, but it's a start. My local writing group is having meetings at Muldoon's coffee house every day after work to get in some scheduled writing time, and I think that is/will really help me avoid procrastination.
Book 2 of the Merystories, The Monastery Theorem, is what I'm writing. That's the one with Prince Q, for anyone who follows my characters at all. The sheer volume of the daily word requirement is slightly staggering (for someone like me that usually writes in page-long bursts at max), but I'm ahead of schedule as of right now so I'm going to try and stay that way if possible. Since the storyline for the Merystories has been ping-ponging around my brain for several years now, and the world and its logistics have been built and worked on for some time, I didn't actually have to do a ton of planning and outlining for this...though I did do some. It's nice though to be forced to hammer something out. Good, bad, or ugly, the point is that it is materializing before my eyes. Pretty cool. At the risk of sounding mental, I love spending time in my head.
