Birthdays and Rainbows

Jun 21, 2006 18:38

Another largely uneventful day has passed. I really meant to unpack things today, but that didn't happen. Oh well, there's still time I suppose. Maybe later.

There are two women here now who I'm desperately trying to avoid by holing myself up in my room. They're here to attempt to sell us a Rainbow vacuum cleaner. Why did my mother let them in, you ask? One of our neighbors recommended us as potential customers, and apparently if my parents sit through a demonstration, they (my parents, that is) get a free vacation or something. There's no way on earth they're going to buy it. WAY too expensive. Plus, they'll probably interrupt our watching Jeopardy!, another point against them. :-p

So it's Meryl's 57th birthday tomorrow - woo hoo! The celebration will be all day for me, starting at 8 a.m., when we're going to try again (albeit unsuccessfully I imagine though) to break the record on SimplyStreep for the most users online at one time. Then at 9, it'll be movies, movies, movies (Seduction of Joe Tynan, Kramer, Sophie, Out of Africa, Postcards, Bridges, and either Adaptation or The Hours, I haven't decided yet) until David Letterman at 23:30 with special guest (any guesses?)...that's right - Meryl Streep! So all in all, I expect it to be a perfectly Merylicious (or Streeptacular, whichever you prefer) day. Divine. No interruptions until I have to call my grandmother and wish her a happy birthday herself, but that's it.

Must remember to watch Sex & the City reruns on TBS tonight at 22:00. Apparently there were three commercials for The Devil Wears Prada on last night during that one hour. Who knew? Yes, that's right...I AM so far gone that I'm forcing myself to see SATC (a show whose very premise I loathe) solely to watch DWP commercials. Bwahaha! *sings* "They're coming to take me away, haha, hoho, hehe, to the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time, and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats, and they're coming to take me away, haha!"
