So, it's been about 500 years since my last post, and I'm not quite sure why I'm posting now. Perhaps just to waste time. I have a ton of Hebrew papers to grade and Shabbat is quickly approaching (I can't write on Shabbat, so that means I can't grade said papers), but I'm pretty indifferent right now. My plan is to read...a lot...because I have three term papers due this month (all around 10 pages) and I've apparently caught the senioritis bug as a junior. Pretty bad, I know.
Also, I now have my first girlfriend, which is pretty damn exciting, if I do say so myself. Hmm, I can't decide whether it's better to mention that first or the fact that I'm now an official Jew (as of Rosh Hashanah, September 2006). I think the newness of being Jewish has somewhat worn off, although I did feel all warm and fuzzy inside at the Passover seder when I realized that it's my first Passover as a Jew.
But back to my girlfriend. I met her on my summer program in California last year when there was a mutual attraction, but we (read: I) decided it was better not to let anything happen just yet. We've talked occasionally since then, and a little more than a month ago, I decided at the last minute that I wanted to go visit her during my Spring Break, which I did three weeks ago. Things happened that I didn't expect and I wound up asking her to be my girlfriend (something else I wasn't expecting to happen). But she's quite wonderful and I'm extremely happy to have her in my life.
Now the next problem is just how do I tell my parents?
ahuva,
judaism,
shabbat,
hebrew
