Peryl fan fiction ch. 18 !!!
Meryl woke with a start. She had fallen asleep on the couch in Don’s lap. She had only been sleeping for a little over an hour. “Honey, are you alright?” Don asked concerned. “Yeah, why…why would you say that?” she asked. “Well you kept mumbling in your sleep and sweetheart your crying.” he explained. “What was your dream about?” “I don’t remember” she lied. Feeling her tear stained cheeks. “I’m going to go wash my face off I’ll be right back.” she hurried off to the bathroom and rinsed her face quickly. “Oh My God, how can I tell him now?” “How can I tell him without him hating me?” she sobbed. She had woken before her dream had revealed his response and because of that she was now more terrified than ever. “I love him so much!” she said “It’s not the same with as it is with Pierce.” she said to herself. She knew she wanted to be with Pierce. She finally decided that she needed to tell Don sooner or later because she figured it would be easier to handle. She knew she wouldn’t be able to tell him today because of her dream, but she had the whole weekend.
Don sat in the living room trying to figure out what was wrong with his wife. “She’s not herself, she’s been so distant.” he thought “It’s like she has something else on her mind all the time.” He didn’t want to make her upset by asking her, and he thought she’d tell him sooner or later so he pushed the issue to the back of his mind for the moment. Meryl came back and got on the couch and kissed him. She was about to say something when his phone rang. He was needed for an emergency conference in L.A. he wasn’t going to go but then he talked to Grace and since she was taking a break from everything she came over to stay with Meryl while Don was away.

Meryl woke up the next day and found Grace asleep beside her. She smiled. She loved all of her children more than anything in the world. Grace stirred and woke. “Gees!!!” Meryl said “Are you so worried about me that you couldn’t sleep in your room?” she teased “Aw come on mom I came in here last night to tell you goodnight but you were already asleep, so I laid down on the bed beside you and just fell asleep.” Grace said groggily. Meryl hugged her daughter, then her usual bought of morning sickness hit her and she was off to the bathroom.
They spent the day just talking and catching up, Meryl was enjoying spending the day with her daughter. Later on Meryl went rummaging through the kitchen. “Do we not have what it is your looking for mom?” Grace asked. “No, we don’t!!!” She exclaimed. “Maybe I can run to the store and get it for you?” “Would you?” Meryl asked. “Of course what do you want?” Meryl immediately replied “Chocolate Chip ice cream and dill pickles!!!!” Hahaha Grace laughed “I remember you craving that with Louisa!!!” “I’ll be back in record time I promise!!” Grace kissed her mom on the cheek then out the door she went.
Not 2 minutes after she left Meryl’s phone beeped. She looked at it and saw she had a text message from Pierce. Hey gorgeous, I’m in New York for 2 weeks my flight just landed is there any way I can see you? Just to check up on you and our child? Meryl wanted nothing more but she knew that they probably shouldn’t try anything just yet she text him back no and explained why. Pierce was disappointed but he didn’t want to push her.
As promised Grace was back in record time. She walked through the door and immediately dipped the ice cream for her mother. They both ate some ice cream, Grace watching in horror as her mother combined the pickles with the ice cream. All Meryl could do was laugh.
A week later she still hadn’t told Don that he wasn’t the father and that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Pierce. He had just come back from the conference and Meryl was trying to decide when the right time to tell him was. It was early June and Meryl was 2 weeks shy of being three months pregnant and her body was starting to change. She was just barely beginning to show. If it had been anyone but her they wouldn’t have really noticed anything. But she did because she was having a hard time getting into her jeans!
Don was out on an errand, Meryl was out of ice cream! He was walking through the store when he bumped into Pierce. “Hey, what are you doing here?” He asked Pierce. “Well I’m up here auditioning for a movie and I’m staying in a friend’s apartment while they’re on vacation and I was running low on food!” Pierce said. He saw the ice cream in Don’s hand. Don realized this and laughed “Meryl’s craving ice cream and pickles!” he said his eyes glowing. Pierce immediately got jealous. “So… uh.. How is she?” he said. “We’ve all been wondering” he added. “She’s doing fine.” Don said proudly. Don was a nice guy but Pierce hated that it was him running errands for her and not him. “Hey” Don broke his train of though. “I’m sure she’d love to see you, why don’t you come by?” “See how she’s doing for yourself” Pierce knew he should refuse the offer but he just couldn’t help it! “Yeah, sure why not?” he replied “Great!” Don said they checked out and then he followed Don to his and Meryl’s apartment in his car.
“Honey!!!” Don called “I have ice cream!!! AND A surprise for you!!!” Meryl ran to the door where Don was standing. She kissed him Mmmm!!! “Thanks!!” “What’s my surprise?” she asked “I ran into someone at the store and thought you would enjoy seeing them!” “Who?” Meryl asked “You can come in!” Don yelled outside. He moved away and in stepped Pierce, her heart beat faster she wanted to leap into his arms and kiss him so much it hurt. “Hey” He said “Hey” she replied. “Ran into Don in the store and he insisted I come a check on you.” “Oh, she said. Looking down trying to hide the fact that she was blushing. Pierce cam up and hugged her. “God she smells good!!” He thought. She was thinking the exact same thing. “Hey, listen I’m cooking tonight why don’t you stay for dinner?” Don asked as he walked into the kitchen to put the ice cream up. “Uh… sure” he said pulling away from their embrace.
“Great!!” Don said “I’m going to get started” “Just keep my wife company for me!” Don said. Meryl led him to the living room and turned on the T.V. try to keep her mind off of how much she loved Pierce. He turned to her “Your glowing you know.” He said so softly and so full of love that Meryl had to kiss him. It was quick and passionate. She broke away and tried to change the subject “So, how’s single life?” “well, I don’t feel like I’m single, my heart still belongs to you.” he said softly. She smiled at him and turned towards the T.V. flipping through the guide when she passed “A Prairie Home Companion” “Stop!” Pierce said “I never saw this one.” she giggled and turned it on. He couldn’t believe how talented she was. Watching her singing like that only made him love her more. Finally Don came in and told them dinner was ready.
They laughed and talked through dinner. Don noticed how happy Meryl was, she hadn’t been this happy since she had been home and that was even with the baby. He saw the way Pierce was looking at her but really didn’t think to much of it. Lots of men looked at Meryl like that. They got to dessert and Don brought out the ice cream for Meryl. Pierce laughed when Meryl got up and once again got the pickles to go with it. “What?” she asked. “Nothing, you really are pregnant aren’t you?” he was filled with so much love for her and their unborn child he thought he would burst. “So where’s Louisa, I thought she still lived at home?” he asked “She does, she was home all last week and so now she’s with Mamie, during the summer she’s all over the place.” Meryl explained as Don cleared the dishes away. Don got a call from his studio there was something they wanted him to take care of. “It’s 7:30, can’t this wait until tomorrow?’ he asked “ I don’t like leaving Meryl here” “Oh for God’s sake Don I’m pregnant not an invalid!!” “Hey, Don if you need to go then I can stay here with her if you don’t mind that?” Pierce offered hoping he would say yes. “Um, if you don’t mind I’d appreciate that Pierce, it’ll only be an hour or two at most!!” “No problem.” Don kissed Meryl goodbye and headed out. As soon as Don’s car was out of the driveway Pierce picked Meryl up and carried her back to the living room. “What did I do make you need to carry me?” She asked grinning. “Nothing, I just want to.” he replied.
He sat down on the couch with her in his lap and she immediately kissed him. The kissed for what seemed like forever, tongues entwined. I love you so much, I’ve missed you so much.” Meryl said between kisses. “Ditto” he agreed She sat beside him and they turned on the T.V. She laid her head in his lap and was just about to drift off when she felt what felt like a contraction. She AHHHH she screamed. “What is it Meryl?” Pierce asked concerned. “That felt… like.. A … contraction.” she breathed. Pierce immediately picked her up and rushed her to his car. She had two more on the way to the hospital. She got in to see the doctor immediately and he confirmed her suspicions. They went to work on trying to stop them and ushered Pierce outside. Pierce called Don and explained things “I’m on my way” Don said. Pierce had started crying. They hadn’t said anything even though they had only been in there a few minutes he was terrified.
Just then the doctor came out, we’ve stopped the contractions. We did an ultra sound and the baby is just fine. “Oh thank God!!!” Pierce said. “Her husband is on his way but can I go in and see her?” he asked. “Yes, you can she was asking to see you anyways.” the doctor said. “Meryl!! You scared the hell out of me!” he said when he got into her room. The nurse had left and it was just the two of them. “The doctor is going to attach this thing to my stomach in case I have anymore contractions.” “If I don’t have anymore for another month he’ll let me stop wearing it.” She said pointing to the I.V. that now contained medicine to stop anymore contractions. He kissed her softly but passionately. She started crying “I don’t know what I would have done if I had lost our baby.” she said. He sat on the bed and held her close. He let her go just as Don walked in. “Honey are you and the baby alright?” he asked Meryl explained that she was and the I.V. just like she had Pierce. Meanwhile Pierce was raging with jealously. “Listen, I’ll call tomorrow to see how your doing all right?” Pierce said. “I’ll leave you two alone.” Meryl didn’t want him to go but she knew he was jealous and had to get out. He leaned down and kissed her on the cheek and then looked into her eyes. There was no mistaking the look he gave her. Don saw and realized, Pierce Brosnan was in love with his wife. “She’s been so happy with him here, way more than what she has been lately.” he thought “Is Meryl in love with him too?”……..
